I hope we're all ready to leave the phenomenal world, and enter into the sublime?

I don't know what to say about this bizzare, yet beautiful book. I didn't love it, I didn't hate it. It's one of those books that leave you looking at the wall with a blank stare. Reading it in Greek certainly made the experience more poetic.

We cannot prove anyone's innocence, while we can definitely prove everyone's guilt.

A pretentious and miserable man realises that he's pretentious and miserable. What more usual can happen?

2 starts because I appreciate the author's desire to criticize fake values and hypocritical morality. I only wish he could had done it in a less dull way.

I usually avoid reading books on greek mythology, although a Greek myself. And yet, this one made the difference. Miller created an amazing novel that highlights the life of Circe and showcases the emotional waves of Greek women of that period, but also of today.
It was an honour to read.

In the mortal world, I'd say: this is what happens when the oppressed ends up trying to please the oppressor, when the patriarchy and internalised misogyny devours you entirely, to the point where you end up destroying your life and damaging your loved ones in the way.

But, in Faerie, I'll say: fuck Taryn.

In a more bookish tone, this is a nice read, it gives you insight on Taryn's pov and additional information on Vivianne. That's about it.

One of the best YA novels I've read so far. Excellent MC, morally grey characters, very interesting plot full of betrayal and murder, all the necessary details to create an amazing fantasy story. Jude's complicated relationship with Madoc and her sisters is my favourite character-driven plot of the novel, in combination with the excellent enemies-to-lovers slowburn.

The questions that remain unanswered, and I hope are answered in the next two books, are
: what's the true story behind the girls' parents, especially their mum and how did she fall in love with Madoc? How does Vivian's identity work? She's half-human but seems to be living life in the same way as any full-Fae creature. What's her relationship with Madoc? Vivi is a really enjoyable character and I'd like to see more around her identity.

Average at best. A lot of plot holes, repetitive notions, wasted romantic potentials between MC and Judas that could turn friends to enemies to lovers. Would not recommend.

There are a lot of things one could say about this novel: the psyche of the characters, their flaws, their opinions, their suffering, their sins. There is a lot that can be said about the author's self-inserting through the Prince.

All I'll say is that I have never felt such sympathy for a main character as I have for Leon, and that is something that the book community knows to be rare.

I rarely read romance books that don't have another main plot to focus on, but this one is a classic of English literature for a reason.

Russian literature lights bright among its European peers, and Dostoevsky is certainly one of the best authors the country has offered.

A book of great philosophical thinking, filled with emotions and agony, a true classic.
