I’ve never read a book where the main character was autistic. Such a beautiful enlightening read- I can’t recommend it enough.

I enjoyed this read but the protagonist was a bit childish and annoying which made it difficult for her issues to resonate. Will probably read the next two tho because I did like Roth and the whole good vs. evil debate.

Didn’t love the book but it definitely got better toward the end. I love that it was her debut- I’ll definitely check out her other books. Always fun to watch an author improve.

Grace is just too childish for me. And somehow in a 600+ page book filled with things happening, it felt like nothing happens. Plus, I caught multiple typos which was surprising and irritating for an established author to have SO many. After the ending in the second book I was so excited for this, but this one was a bit of a let down.

I think the issue for me with the books I’ve recently read by holly black is that they’re not The Cruel Prince, The Wicked King, or the Queen of Nothing. Lol. I read those books before reading anything else of hers- I binge read the full series in under a week while sick in bed. I was obsessed. My mistake is expecting all of her other fae books (a genre I’m usually not interested in) to be just as enthralling. For me, they have all fallen dramatically short. Might also be because they’re older and she has gotten better at her craft- I’m not sure. All I know is this will probably be my last holly black read until she comes out with something new.

Well written, a bit slow in the beginning but overall enjoyed this book.
