Her age at the beginning really confused me. From the context it seemed like seemed like she was a very small child, however the voice was very very mature. I just couldn't imagine a child having those thoughts and speaking the way she does. ---- Wait. Why did Jane fall in love with Mr. Rochester? He's mean and rude and 30 years older than she is and he refers to Adele as 'it'.
The fortune teller thing was just weird.
I must have wrinkled my nose in disgust a hundred times because of how he spoke to her.
Why does he call her Janet?
I understand that help for mental health was not a thing in the nineteenth century and that the woman was violent, but it seems really cold hearted to just lock her up and pretend she never existed.
He was actually Mad the she rejected him after learning he was married?
And then he tried to explain himself, but he just sounded like a bratty child who didn't get his way so he just pretended his problems didn't exist. ---- After Jane left Mr. Rochester I had a brief moment of hope that they were not end game, but that disappeared when she discovered she had family.
It's crazy to me that she started to voice her dislike of Sinjin because of how he treated her. But Mr. Rochester treated her the same way!
---- Romance in 1847 was severely lacking. Why is this so revered today? I can't name one good thing about this story. Isn't it time that we as a society hold up something featuring good people who treat others with kindness and respect?
Yes. Jane is a great character and she was ahead of her time, but times have changed. I don't think this is relevant anymore.
I don't normally like second chance romances, but this book is wonderful and slow burn and swoony. This story is different because the MCs never were together in the past, there were only feelings, so we aren't just dropped into this situation and told that these people used to be madly in love with each other. We went through the journey with Lo and Wes.

This is a closed romance with disability rep available on kindle unlimited.
This def gave me the warm and fuzzies! I liked that each character was completely honest, there were no secrets or miscommunication.
It was great how Seb stood up for Maddie and encouraged her not to give in or be a pushover, but it wasn't overbearing.
It was really refreshing that there was no third act break up. There were no doubts between these two. And though the conflict presented itself, the characters pretty much ignored it.

This is available on kindle unlimited. I listened to it on hoopla.
I only listened to this for about twenty minutes and several red flags stood out to me. I'll start out saying that I have friedreich's ataxia,a form of muscular dystrophy.
The very first line was "I love being ridden." Leave the double entendre alone, don't ever "ride" someone's wheelchair!
The moment I knew I wouldn't read this book was maybe 5 minutes in when she said something along the lines of being cute despite her disability. That is a completely disgusting statement.
She then goes on to say that she has a form of muscular dystrophy, but didn't specify. And I get maybe that only bothed me because I couldn't help but wonder if she had FA.
She also talks about looking online at others that share her disease so she can judge them! How gross!
From other reviews I read that this is own voices and that shocks me! It's unbelievable to me that someone with a disability would be so negative and disparaging about it like that!
So this was awful. The male MC was the worst! The pacing was weird. I'm not sure where the real feelings came from. One minute they're basically just roommates and then they see each other in their undies and then they're in love. Um what? No getting to know you scenes, no longing, no pining, just bam! Love!
