5 freakin stars. - I was skeptical because I was not a fan of the previous book in this serious, but this one blew that one out of the water.
If you like Heartless, read this book IMMEDIATELY, it had all the same vibes. A single dad, a strong willed woman, and of course SCORCHING chemistry. Teddy and Gus are EVERYTHING and i love them so much.
That ending though? 😭 I can’t wait for Cam’s book.

Still loving the story overall but this volume was a little strange, more so Kurosawa was strange and Adachi inviting somebody else to sleepover so he doesn’t have to admit his feelings yet, be so fr. But it was cool to see the connection there with somebody else in the manga. I am so happy the confession finally came, though it felt anticlimactic. Still cannot wait to read the next volume though. 🩷

I cannot even begin to describe how distraught I am after that ending. Like wtf?
This book is a masterpiece and I will accept 0 criticism on it ever. At first I am sitting here like “it’s good, but kind of predictable”. Yeah I was wrong, so wrong, so so wrong.
I went in to this book blind and I believe my experience was even better because of it so I will not be saying too much. Just know, that I loved it and I need book 2 more than I need to breathe. Period. Bye while I stare at a wall now wondering what I did to deserve that insane plot twist at the end.

3.5⭐️ Listen, this is a fun read and it didn’t suffer from the middle book syndrome. But it still had minor issues, like the plot jumping everywhere. And not even a hint of character growth. But it is only the second book in the series and I LOVE the first book so I continued on. And there are some good parts, the spice was phenomenal and it was perfect for that craving alone. But I also love these characters so much. With that said, this is def not going to be my favorite book from the series, but it is necessary for the series as a whole. I will be continuing this series soon, not yet, just in case. I don’t want to go in to a reading slump if I feel the same way about the next book, so I will take a little break and continue on next month hopefully.
I still recommend this series if you are looking for a book reminiscent to acotar and with lots of spice and tension.
Happy reading ✨

I LOVED Henry since Icebreaker, he was one of my favorite side characters, so to meet him again as the main character this time? EVERYTHING. I feel like we really got to know him in depth this time and also witness his growth throughout the series and I LOVE that.
Halle, adorable and sweet Halle. I love her so much. And the eldest daughter people pleaser representation? Girl, yes, I feel seen. And seeing her growth throughout the book and he finally stand up for herself was absolutely amazing. 💕
I think one of my favorite things about the book is they didn’t NEED each other for their growth, they didn’t use each other as their reasons. But they did find strength in each other and were able to help each other grow in a positive manner and I love that.
The reasoning for a 3 star rating? Well, after a quarter way through the book, their conversations started to read a lot like therapy sessions instead of normal couple convos. And that kept throwing me off as it didn’t feel natural anymore at that point. And then there was a lot of repetition about their feelings toward certain things to the point where if they would have stopped repeating themselves, this book would have been like 5-10 chapters shorter.
But overall, the vibes were there, and I had a good time. 🩷

Omg it’s soooooo cuuuuuuute. Literally deceased from cuteness overload. The slow burn romance is adorable, the main characters have depth, the setting is perfect. I am obsessed and will probably be fully caught up on this series by the months end.
If you love bl and a good romantic comedy with the perfect amount of slow burn, pick this one up.

First randomly discovered this book at a thrift store in my mid 20s, loved it so much that I devoured all the books that were out at the time in the series. Years later and I decide to start buying them again and reread this one and omg how I missed this world.
A broody archangel named Raphael, a warrior vampire hunter (Elena), a hunt for a being that will surpass any challenge she has known before. Sign me tf up. This book is everything, from the almost insta attraction between our two MCs, to the action scenes, the intense mysteries of the back stories of our characters, the side characters being interesting asf (Ilium my love 😍), and the epic battle, and then that ending? OBSESSED is a major understatement.
So yeah, this series is still one of my faves and I plan on continuing and catching up by the end of the year, it’s going to be an amazing journey.
If you’re looking for an urban fantasy romance with spice, action, and mystery, pick this one tf up bestie. ✨
