I do not even know how to describe this book. This one was slower paced then the first but only because it deep dives in to the complexities of politics within this world while also growing the mysteries behind everything that has been happening.
I don’t want to say too much because I fully believe that you MUST go into these blind. And believe me when I say that they will continue to alter your brain in the best possible way. I am obsessed, if you are looking for an epic fantasy world to get into this year, this is the one. 💕

Lucy’s writing gets me every single time. This is my second Lucy Score book and it gave me all the best vibes.
It’s a romance, a second chance, childhood friends to lovers type. Which already had me swooning. But it is also a mystery with tons of suspense. I loved every second of it.
There are some darker themes in this book so just make sure to check the trigger warnings as your mental health is important. 🫶🏻
This story delivers:
❄️ small town vibes
🎨 childhood friends to lovers
❄️ grumpy x sunshine
🎨 a mystery to be solved
❄️ synesthesia representation
🎨 second chance romance
❄️ 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ lvl spice
🎨 lovable side characters
❄️ relatable main characters
🎨 well paced
❄️ beautifully written story from start to finish
Happy reading besties. 💕

I was just looking for a silly little romance to get me out of my reading slump. Instead I got a romance about two people who become so intertwined that it turns their worlds upside down.
This has heavy themes in it as well, the mmc has social anxiety and it was the best portrayal of social anxiety I have ever read. How do I know? I have social anxiety and this is the best depiction of how I am. I legit cried because I have never felt so seen until I read this book.
On top of that, the romance is just so beautiful and well written, nothing felt forced or rushed. Everything just flowed organically. Including their insistent denial of each other’s feelings. Ugh, I love them so much and I loved this book so much. After this one, Abby is now an auto buy author for me forever. 💕

Wtaf, that ending though? Omg 😱
5/5⭐️ easy, this is surprisingly my first thriller/mystery and I NEED more. The twists in this one were insane, especially the ending, I was gasping for air with how shocked I was. I did not see that one coming at all. But yeah, we have an affair (cheating husband).
Siri play before he cheats by Carrie underwood. Have men learned nothing just from that song? Bruh.
But anyway, and the person he had an affair with is unalived in his bed after he goes home to his wife.
Cue the tiny violins for the mistress.
She is a cheater too with a husband and another side piece besides this dude. Get it I guess?
And his wife, who is a lawyer, still takes his case to attempt to prove his innocence. Could never be me.
Okay, I need to stop now, so this was amazing and I’m obsessed. K, bye. 🔥

How do you even begin to describe something that is an absolute masterpiece? No amount of words will do this justice. My life has been changed, my mind has been altered, and I will never get over this book. I knew just a few chapters in that it was gonna be a banger to the point I ordered the next book immediately. The world building was so in depth, but not tedious, you are thrown in to this world and you never want to leave. The characters were absolute perfection. The magic system is unique. The writing is immaculate. And the narrator of the audiobook has the most soothing voice. I hybrid read/listened to this and I highly recommend it. I only regret not starting this series sooner, because I was absolutely missing out. If you are a fan of epic fantasies, do NOT sleep on this book. 💕

wtf did I just read? This is reason 2578855 why I am no longer listening to Booktok or booksta recs.
- the language was so cringe in this entire book, the amount of slang, brain rot terms, and TT terms were insane.
- when you say everybody is bisexual in a book, that is NOT inclusive, that is just fetishizing a group so you can act like you are inclusive to sell more copies to that group. Stop doing this. It was a major ick. 🤮
- everybody was “slutty”, so slut shaming as well, I wasn’t even surprised at this point already and we were only 15% of the way in.
- somebody else mentioned this one, so I’m not gonna go in to detail. But trying to use more “exotic” words to describe white men, while just using “black” or “dark” skin is super icky.
Miss me with this one. Moving forward if I see a big creator hyping up a book, I’m adding it to my never read list. And I read this AFTER getting out of a month long reading slump after 11 DNFs of overhyped books in November. I’m tired man. 😅

3.5⭐️ - The story follows Vivian and Niko who are childhood best friends but soon realize that they always wanted to be so much more. We have tons of drama, cutesy moments, some light spice, and so much found family.
I liked this story a lot, it was cute and had some drama to keep me interested and entertained. But omg stop saying “folds” 🤮. And it also took some time to get in to the book and I felt like it could have been wrapped up sooner. But I did love the characters and Vivi and Niko are so adorable and I love Vivi’s family. It did keep me entertained enough that I will be continuing the series for the moment.

I am OBSESSED with this trilogy so far, omg.
This book happens during the same timeline as Her Soul to Take (book 1), but this is Juniper and Zane’s story. Juniper as in the girl who got away from the God and was on the run until her brother’s death brings her back to Abelaum and back towards danger. Zane was also in book 1, Leon’s bestie.
I like this book even more than the first book. Junie has so much feminine rage, as she should, and I love her for it. She is hard headed and slow to trust anybody which makes the relationship between her and Zane even better.
Learning more about Zane was everything I had hoped for and more lol. I loved him in book one and his story did not disappoint. We also delve deeper into the demons world, which was intense and amazing.
I’m gonna be real though, the next book is about Everly, and the arch demon Callum. But what did they even do? 😂 fr, they are not mentioned at all near the end when all the action is occurring in either books. So I am curious what part they even played and I can’t wait to start the final book to find out. 😍

4.5⭐️ It only took me so long to read this because I had burnt myself out on romances and craved fantasy at the time. Now I regret it, this story was so cute and wholesome and spicy.
A runaway cheated on bride, a hot single dad in need of a nanny, we knew where this one was going. 😂
This story was so cute, I love how quickly Veronica assimilated herself in to Austin’s life and his family. She is so easy going and carefree and I loved that about her. The fact that her dbag ex tried to cage her makes me so angry, she deserves so much more than that. And she found that with Austin.
Austin, grumpy, and completely jaded after his experience years prior that left him raising twins alone. He needing Roni, to show him how to open up more and go after what he really wants. And we all knew what he wanted from that first day.
Their chemistry was off the charts, the spice was MAGNIFICENT. This author knows how to write steamy scenes that are not cringe or repetitive.
My only complaint was the miscommunication near the end and the stubbornness of both parties. Like why won’t y’all just talk and say what you feel? I get it to an extent, Austin is scared to let anybody in and Veronica is scared of rejection. But it was still annoying.
Overall though, I loved the story, I loved the characters, I loved the setting, and I love the authors writing style. I will definitely be picking up the rest of this series asap.
