Anson's Awakening: An M/M Christmas Daddy Romance by Anna Sparrows

I am absolutely HERE for this Little awakening! This isn't a topic I've seen around too much, but Anna did an incredible job making this one. The way Anson discover his dream role through pure happenstance and the way he just jumped right in head first, was so much fun to read! And I really loved how Drake supported Anson, essentially guiding him through this whole new journey of self-discovery. And the fact that he showed zero judgment toward him was just so đź« .
I also knew from the very first chapter that Drake was going to be a favorite for me simply because his thoughts revolved around Anson even before realizing he was the perfect match for him.

A fairly cute story! There were a few moments where I found myself questioning things — like why Kody would choose to remain slightly unhappy for most of the book when he could have been much happier getting with Nova sooner. But once I got past that, the actual relationship between these two was genuinely heartwarming. The fact that both of them are ace and they understand that part of each other, made it feel even more special.

I absolutely loved the found family trope in this one! Yes, every single guy is undeniably questionable. And sure, their morals may have been a bit rocky, but they genuinely loved each other (flaws and all) and always had each other's backs. Paris was such a perfect match for Vix, and vice versa. While Vix needed someone to care for him despite his disorder, Paris needed someone who would rely on him without making him feel small for not knowing as much as others. I fully thought Gareth was going to be thrown into their dynamic for a hot minute, but I’m 100% shipping him with Baz and Vale.

Unlucky x Lucky!!
Oh my God, I haven’t read a book with this kind of dynamic between characters before, and I have to say — I’m such a fan! Apple is incredibly lucky (like really lucky), while Adam… well, he’s just not. Like, at all. Everyone in town practically worships the ground Apple walks on, which naturally leads to a lot of one-sided tension from Adam. But when Apple discovers that Adam is the ONLY person who’s ever spoken badly about him, he becomes weirdly and incredibly fascinated with him. But I seriously ate up every single one of their interactions, it was simultaneously both so sweet and hilarious.

Truthfully, the one word that comes to mind when I think about this book is feminism. I absolutely loved Zetian and how she fought fiercely for her rights, her place, and her status. She refused to let the way men viewed her—and women in general—stop her from reaching her highest potential. Zetian didn’t take crap from anyone, and the fact that it was her mind and determination that kept her strong for 300 pages really says something. And holy moly, the dynamic between Zetian, Shimin, and Yizhi completely solidified the fact that they were meant to be together!

I think Clay might just be my favorite boyfriend out of all the guys’ fated mates. He was such a sweetheart, and his anxiety really kept him to himself—until George came along! I absolutely loved their relationship, especially how George was so protective of Clay and made sure he never got too overwhelmed by his family 🥹.

I love my little airhead 🫶🏼
Zephyr was so adorable! Not even five minutes after meeting Storm, he’s already proclaiming his love and calling him his fated mate. And sweet Storm—he just wanted a new job and some new experiences. It’s safe to say he got all that and a pretty fantastic new boyfriend who can flirt with him through the wind. How cool is that? Plus, he was such a king for going along with whatever Zeph wanted.

Reading how Bran and Flame went back and forth while trying to figure out their feelings for each other (with plenty of meddling from their family members) made this novella such a fun read,
but I ABSOLUTELY LOVED CODY! The way this literal teenager was the smartest person (so far) in the series—completely figuring out everyone’s elements within seconds of meeting them—was such a boss move ✋🏼.
