I thought that the conclusion to the 171-issue run was satisfactory, but overall, I’m not a major fan of Mark Millar’s addition to the Swamp Thing story. Removing a lot of the major supporting characters and instead opting for a cosmic story of major consequence strayed from what I found most endearing about the character, and that’s his humanity. Plus Swamp Thing is kinda a soulless dick for most of the run, which I don’t like.

This is a solid anthology of works, not quite part of Tolkien's expanded legendarium, but more than tangentially connected. I particularly liked "On Fairy-stories" and his breakdown of the origins and purpose of fairy tales. Farmer Giles of Ham was another favorite, showing off Tolkien's whimsy and wit. The verses from The Red Book captures his expert use of the English language in poetry. Shout out to the brief verse entitled "Cat." It's about a cat.
