A classic in every sense of the word. Endlessly witty, charming, and exciting. One of the essential fantasy adventure stories, and one of my comfort novels—it gets better every time I read it.

A fun piece of fiction with some interesting commentary on biology and ethics. Characters are all well-developed and interesting, and the plot is consistently engaging. A must-read for sci-fi fans, fans of the movie, or lovers of a good story.

The shifting in perspective is a cool way of approaching the adaptation, but the writing itself is rather bland and unmemorable—with the exception of the Joker’s consciousness. Still a fun read for fans of Batman, and a solid adaptation of the 1989 film.
