I will probably pick this back up at some point in time but it isn’t a real priority at this point

Let me start by saying that I didn’t realize that this was a book in a series and I might have enjoyed it more had I read the first book as I feel like there were established relationships and dynamics by characters that I didn’t fully get. With all that said I still had such a fun time with this novel. The idea that matchmaking companies are planting synths into the apps to push user behavior and actions was so interesting. I loved seeing Claudia navigate the mysteries that came up in the novel and found myself trying to see if I couldn’t figure out the twists before they happened. I definitely plan on going back to read The Verifiers and am looking forward to finding out what happens next.

I pledge allegiance to Kresley Cole 🫡 The Immortals After Dark series is one of my favorites ever. It is such a perfect snapshot of paranormal romance during this time. Cole does what she does best in this book—have two MCs that are foils of each other come together and make each other strong and more whole together. This book is action packed and full of steam.

I am so mad that I did not read this play until the age of 35. I guess I’m also glad that I had time and experiences to bring into the reading of this play. The family dynamics, the social and political dynamics, and the experience of being black in America were handled with such care and expertise that I was blown away.

This was a fun reread. I first read this in college and remembered really enjoying it. I don’t think I enjoyed it as much this time but it was nice to revisit it

Book 2 in the psy-changeling series was so much faster paced and fun. Faith while being a psy embraced her passion really fast. Vaughn is a possessive asshole with a heart of gold. The action was fun. I’ll definitely keep reading on in the series.
The Tommyknockers by Stephen King

This was unnecessary long, rambling, and kind of fucking boring at times. King’s female characters all feel flat and as if they have no inner thoughts, wants, and desires.

I am deeply embarrassed that it took me this long to read this magnificent book. The visuals were beautiful and complex. I had multiple moments where I cried and had to take a moment because Mira Jacob can break your heart in a short phrase. It feels like a weird yet perfect time to have read this during this awful election cycle that makes you question everything you know about people.
