“she deserves the god damn world. and i’m going to be the one to give it to her.”

i’ve been waiting for beau’s book since i started flawless, and in no way whatsoever did it disappoint.

bailey was so damn determined when it came to getting what she wanted, and even though she knew she’d get there eventually, she still worried about what it’ll take to actually get to her “eventually”, and i totally related to that. she’s so much stronger than she realizes, but beau has never once doubted her strength or her ability to achieve her dreams (#teambailey).

beau had been searching for his purpose ever since he came home from the military, but never once thought that his purpose would be the bartender who worked at the local bar in chestnut springs. he loved bailey so hard and loud, even when saying “i love you” to her wasn’t entirely appropriate, considering their relationship was built on a “glorified bet” for a period of time. but when that “glorified bet” became realer than they thought it would? nothing would stop him from protecting bailey, even her own family.

everything about this book felt so right to me and nothing felt rushed, which i feel can happen with fake dating/engagement tropes, but this was perfect.

“theo dale silva has wormed his way into my heart, and i never stood a chance at keeping him out.”

theo and winter are so perfect together that it almost hurts.

winter, although she has her insecurities and doubts about herself, is so strong and determined, especially where vivi is concerned. she loves her little girl more than anything in the world, and it was so precious seeing vivi grow up. despite her rocky relationship with her sister and everything that’s been thrown at her, winter comes out on top and makes something of herself, all while theo stands by her side and supports her through it all.

theo is so, so dedicated to what he does and who he loves, especially vivi. as soon as she came into his life, he dedicated his time to proving himself to both his daughter and, as he would put it, his future wife. seeing what he did for vivi and winter melted my heart, and i could feel his love for them throughout the entire book.

such a sweet and emotional read that had me giggling, kicking my feet, and nearly crying (sometimes all at the same time).

“jasper always makes me feel like he'll catch me when i fall. he always has.“

childhood friends to lovers has never made me feel the way that sloane and jasper have made me feel.

sloane was everything to me. the way she grew with each chapter was written perfectly, even though she still had some doubts, her healing journey was so moving. she was such a badass, but had her sensitive moments (as everyone does), and her entire personality had me obsessing over her the whole book. no man will ever tell her what she can and can’t do ever again period. she had always been strong, but seeing her become even stronger and truly find herself was everything i was hoping for and more.

sweet jasper made me feel all the emotions under the sun. i feel for him and my heart broke for him so many times, especially whenever he second guessed himself and doubted his ability to love/be loved. all that man needed was for someone to show him what he deserved, and sloane did exactly that. and all that sloane needed was for someone to make her a priority, and jasper showed her exactly what it meant to be loved by him and to be a priority to him.

“and i realize in that moment maybe i am heartless after all, because the beautiful girl with the copper hair grinning back at me right now is the one who stole it.”

FIVE STARS FOR DADDY CADE, BABY!

i’m obsessed with this book and honestly might do a reread soon because of how much i loved it.

willa’s personality was so addictive, and i adored her interactions with luke and watching her fall in love with him. she’s definitely a spitfire, which only makes me love her more because of how honest and unfiltered she is. and her banter with cade? top freaking tier.

now cade…good lord. i need that man so badly. save a horse and all that, you know? his grumpiness was so attractive for some reason, and his mouth? PHEW! i’ve been obsessed with him since he was mentioned in book one, and this book did not disappoint at all. he’s cold and rigid on the outside, but such a lover boy on this inside, which makes so much sense for him.

i 100% recommend this book and cannot stress enough how obsessed i am with it!

“she and i really are binary stars, stuck in each other’s orbit, drawn together by forces we can’t see or understand— but that we can feel.”

let me start off by saying that i had no idea what i was missing before i picked up a book by elsie silver, and now that i know what i was missing, i think i’ll forever be riding the high of reading her books.

summer and rhett are an unlikely pair that work so well together. i absolutely feel for summer and her people pleasing tendencies, because making other people proud and being afraid of disappointment is so real. with rhett, feeling pushed to the side and not feeling like a priority is also so freaking real. my heart broke a little bit for him when no one showed up for him, especially when doing something he loved. but even though his family wasn’t there for him, summer was.

i love that we saw how happy summer and rhett made each other, as simple as that is, but i could feel how different they were when they were around each other, which made me love their relationship even more.

“i knew that if i didn’t say something, i’d regret it. because i knew that i’d rather wait for ada hart than be with anyone else.”

i think this book healed a part of me that i didn’t know was still broken.

ada is a character that i relate so heavily to, especially when it comes to her relationship. i know how hard it can be to be with someone who controls you and dictates every little thing in your life, so seeing her struggle with that but also heal from it meant a lot to me.

wes, sweet wes, loved ada so much that i had tears in my eyes over some of the things he said to her. he genuinely cared for her and stood by her side through everything, reassuring her that her life and future were her own, and that he would be there every step of the way.

something i have appreciated through the two books i’ve read so far is that the whole ryder family is a vital part of the story, especially amos. i love how everyone came together (in both books) to just be with each other and celebrate little wins that they shared. and now i can’t wait to read teddy and gus’s book because i just know it’s going to be amazing.

“when it came to emmy, i was playing with fire, but i would happily walk into the flames for her. and i’d have a smile on my face the whole damn time.”

i read this book in less than a day and ate up every single second of it.

emmy and luke were so sweet together, and i loved their connection. i especially loved how luke stepped up and took care of her when she came back to meadowlark, even though emmy’s brother asked him to look after her, he looked after her in his own way (iykyk).

the pieces we saw of luke’s life and his mom added to the story rather than took away from it, which helped me connect to his character more. and emmy, the pieces we saw of her struggles with adhd made so much sense, and i think that was a very important aspect of this book, especially when it came to the things she loved (riding).

although this is a popular book, i would absolutely say it lived up to the hype! i really enjoyed it, and i can’t wait to read the next one!

“she finally looked over at me and there were those eyes. they burned into me, piercing and sad, reminding me i never stood a chance against her.”

i honestly don’t know where to start with this review, but i do know that i have found another favourite written by aubrey taylor.

the only thing i looked up before reading this book were the tropes, and each interaction that florence had with wes, clay, and koen had me giggling and kicking my feet once their feelings were starting to be revealed.

this was mysterious, nerve wracking, heartbreaking, anxiety inducing, sad, happy, full of love, and so many other things all at once. despite the boys’ apprehension at first, each and every one of them loved her in their own unique way.

i loved seeing clay try to figure out the secrets of the manor and what was really happening within its walls. wes, i appreciated that he was at odds with himself and his feelings, and it just made sense that he was the one to be so confident in his beliefs about florence and the manor. and koen, sweet koen, he was such a golden retriever, and i adored how much he cared for florence and how attentive he was when it came to her (spicy scene with clay AND koen, i am looking at you).

i cannot recommend this book enough, and even though i am so sad i’ve read it all, i cannot wait to see what aubrey has in store for the future.
