This Book Will Bury Me by Ashley Winstead
3.75
I went into this blind so I didn't know what the book was about, its premise, nothing. And up until the I want to say maybe 30% to 40% mark I was kinda bored and considered dnfing it since I was so confused and felt like it dragged on. I decided to continue and I am glad I did because the ending really paid off. it got so engaging, suspenseful, thrilling and I was waiting to see what happened next.
Read this if you love:
-True crime
-Book in a book trope
-Online sleuthing
-Twists
The main characters are well-developed and well thought out since I often find it hard to remember multiple characters or distinguish characters, but here I had no problem.

Reading update:
Right off the bat I like the tips and most of the stuff said but there are parts where it tells you to withhold information from your partner or like lie about certain things and that I disagree with since I don't want the same thing done to me so I obviously won't do it to my partner if that makes sense.
Review:
My thoughts about this book are very mixed. While I enjoyed the book and did get something out of it I feel like a lot of the book was focused on not telling your partner things, lying about certain things and playing mind games. In order to have a healthy relationship, both sides should avoid doing the things mentioned above, but the book was very heavy on the fact that if we didn't do the above we would be treated like doormats and so on, which isn't the case always right. Some parts also felt very repetitive in the advice like don't do this or you become a doormat or my friend acted a certain way with her man, put him in his place, she isn't a doormat, behave like my friend.

OKAY WOW. I did not expect that ending, just wow.
I am so glad I didn't give into the urge to dnf it in the beginning because this book just completely exceeded my expectations. I did not see it coming at allll.
I really loved and enjoyed the execution and I already started the second book!
PS. Dont read this before bed, because it will make you want to sacrifice your sleep, and when you eventually finish it you will be left so shocked that you will spend more time thinking of what just happened.😂

THIS BOOK WAS SO PERFECT.
My fav from the entire series and my fav characters. I devoured, this in a day. This 600 PAGE BOOK IN ONE DAY!! Thats how good it wasss, every chance I had I kept coming back to read and WOW I just really enjoyed this.
I LOVE CHRISTIAN, he is on my top book bfs list.( Welcome Christian!)
What stopped me from giving this a 5 star was, the breakup, it was so unnecessary and I feel like the author put it just to add some kind of conflict, reallyyy unnecessary. They were perfect and perfectly fine.

The book started really promising, the premise sounded like it would be this action-packed thriller, but after the first part, it got really boring and felt so repetitive. I also felt like there were way too many details and if the details were lessened it would've been a much more interesting read.
It did get a bit more interesting towards the end when we started finding out more, but that wasn't for long.
I am really disappointed that I didn't enjoy this more because I was highly anticipating this.
Also, the negotiator's pov felt very unnecessary because we kept getting these snippets of his life and I was just skimming through his povs because I didn't care for what was going on with him I just needed to get to the end of the book!
I think this should be classified as a slow-burn mystery or romance.
I am in the minority of people who have read this book and not enjoyed it, so take my review with a grain of salt.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC copy in exchange for my honest review!
