This book leaned hard on the instalove. Eve and Hunter met on the first night at college but didn’t exchange info. By the time they crossed paths again, Eve was in a relationship that lasted 41 months. Finally single again, Eve ends up carpooling with Hunter to spring break with their friends.
When Hunter and Eve decide to get together, it goes from zero to 100. It feels like maybe 2 weeks in they are already dwelling on those three little words. I would have liked to see a little more progression in their relationship before it was full on relationship central.
Similarly to other books in this series, both Eve and Hunter struggle with familial drama. In this book, it felt most believable to me. I appreciate that the family issues are not laid out first thing, but pieces are fed to the reader as the character becomes more developed over the course of the story.
In the digital version of this book, a bonus chapter is included wrapping up the series. In it we get to see all the characters four years in the future. There are little updates about their families and lives after college. Though not fully necessary for the story, it was a fun way to say goodbye to the series and these characters.

I first read this book a few years ago and picking it up again, I noticed it was a slightly different story. CW Farnsworth has reworked and re-released this book and now it is essentially the same story with slightly different scenarios that take place. The main difference is the spice was more descriptive in this version and the drama showed up at some different points. I’m not sure which version I prefer, either way, this is an interesting look at college aged relationships and complicated family dynamics.

It’s a different experience to start and end a book in a similar state. This series seems to have that effect on me. There were lots of questions at the end of both Fourth Wing and Iron Flame. Many questions were answered in this book, but some remain. More troubling is I now have new questions.
This book was very satisfying. All my favorite characters and side characters had page time. Many personalities were able to shine. I appreciated reading about the different types of relationships throughout the familiar characters. We get to a new depth with these characters due to what we learn about them in this story. There was a width breadth of emotions that take place, both highs and lows… and somehow, there are still some dick jokes snuck into the midst. Iron Flame felt a little unbalanced between the first half and the second, but this book feels smoother throughout.
I am apprehensive, yet agitatedly excited to continue this series. I look forward to doing my reread and catching all the Easter eggs I missed the first time through, while I patiently wait for book 4.

This was the perfect mini spicy vacation of a book. It’s not too long, nor does it introduce super heavy topics. But man oh man does it have some spicy moment. I really appreciated the attention to clothing. It added a layer of whimsy to the
