It’s a different experience to start and end a book in a similar state. This series seems to have that effect on me. There were lots of questions at the end of both Fourth Wing and Iron Flame. Many questions were answered in this book, but some remain. More troubling is I now have new questions.
This book was very satisfying. All my favorite characters and side characters had page time. Many personalities were able to shine. I appreciated reading about the different types of relationships throughout the familiar characters. We get to a new depth with these characters due to what we learn about them in this story. There was a width breadth of emotions that take place, both highs and lows… and somehow, there are still some dick jokes snuck into the midst. Iron Flame felt a little unbalanced between the first half and the second, but this book feels smoother throughout.
I am apprehensive, yet agitatedly excited to continue this series. I look forward to doing my reread and catching all the Easter eggs I missed the first time through, while I patiently wait for book 4.
