Overall I liked this book a lot. It was dark and atmospheric with the perfect amount of horror thrown in. I liked Immanuel as the main character and thought the relationship with Ezra felt so natural.
There were a couple things that fell a little flat for me. For one thing I thought the witches themselves were underutilized. I also would have liked to see a little more depth in the side characters.

I feel raw after reading this. I guessed some of where it was going but most of it i was on the edge of my seat trying to figure it out. What a kick off to the second half of the cosmere.

I enjoyed this a lot! Definitely one of the better sleeping beauty retelling I've read. It had a nice balance of spice to plot and I enjoyed the characters dynamic.
It was especially refreshing to have a mald take on the submissive role and it was done so well.
I do think some of this could have been edited down and some scenes were unless but still a great standalone fantasy romance.

This was so incredibly moving to read and sadly still so very relevant in light of the recent election. The way Dr. Virji speaks i really think could change people's minds and I highly recommend reading it if you voted for Trump just to understand the other side.

I am sad to say i think this is the weakest in the trilogy. After being completely blown away by the first two I was really excited for this one but I just found that it was lacking something.
1. I expected Hassa to be in this book way more than she was.
2. I didn't feel as devastated for the characters the way I did in the battle drum
3. The pacing felt a little all over the place.
Overall I still enjoyed it and a absolutely still recommend the trilogy.

A little dry. Mostly felt like a list of names and dates rather than going in depth in any part. But still good info.
