Wow. I cannot count the number of times I wanted to scream out loud during this book (/pos), especially near the end as things started being revealed. What an awesome book, and what an incredibly satisfying conclusion to not only this one trilogy, but the duology of First Law trilogies as a whole.

I always go too long without reading a Joe Abercrombie book and forget that he's one of my favorite authors, then I pick up the next book of his and am reminded why I love him. His writing is dark, funny, thought-provoking, and intense. The characters are delightful to follow, and the plot keeps me on the edge of my seat with the constant, crazy turns and escalations.

This book is SO good. The worldbuilding is phenomenal, the characters are interesting, and I love the character development so much. Everyone should read this book! (After reviewing the content warnings, perhaps...)

This is a very fun book! I don't know that it gives a ton of new or needed information, but it's very fun to see Moraine and Suiane (obligatory audiobook listener, in case I got those spellings wrong lol) as newly raised sisters, and to see how Lan and Moraine meet each other. Great character writing, as I've learned to expect from Jordan!

This book was fantastic! In thinking about what to write for this review, one of my main impressions was, "I think this would be a good book for every creative to read," only to see that the blurb on the cover of the book said the same thing. I don't know if I subconsciously saw that and was influenced, or if we came to the same conclusion unprompted, but either way, it's a true statement.
Being aware of how copyright can be used against creators is important, and Doctorow's perspective on consumerism, the internet, and innate human goodness strikes me as well wrought. He raises a lot of alarming stakes (some of which may be a bit overblown - my one main critique of the book), but also offers a lot of hope for how we might nonetheless find success as creatives while navigating an increasingly digitalized world.

This was a reread of one of my favorite books of all time. I seriously cannot recommend this book highly enough. It's clever, engaging, funny, intense, emotional (highs, not just lows, but plenty of both), and all around just an incredible book. I'm writing about The Locked Tomb for school right now, so I annotated the book this reread looking for references, both the classical allusions and the meme references, which was fun.

Wow! I knew I would like this book, but I did not realize I would like this book this much. Shout-out to my Dad, sister, and friend for all ganging up to force me to move this book to the top of my tbr, because this book was awesome.
As a molecular biology student, I really enjoyed all the science in this book, but the science took more of a backseat than I kind of expected--it was really well balanced with humor (gah, this book is hilarious!) and incredibly compelling characters.
I can really recommend this book to just about anyone, but especially to anyone who can relate to nerd-dom: computer engineers, biologists, astro-physists, anyone like that. This is entertainment that makes you care.
Side note: I'm also very glad that I listened to the audiobook, as the narrator did a phenomenal job. His performance definitely added to the art and experience of reading this book.

These characters are so much fun to follow, and as we're approaching the end of the series, it's really satisfying for their character arcs to begin clicking in to place and being able to look back at how far they've all come. Each of their plots is interesting on their own, but I'm especially loving how some of their plots are starting to weave back together in preparation for the finale!
