Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir
5.0
Wow! I knew I would like this book, but I did not realize I would like this book this much. Shout-out to my Dad, sister, and friend for all ganging up to force me to move this book to the top of my tbr, because this book was awesome.
As a molecular biology student, I really enjoyed all the science in this book, but the science took more of a backseat than I kind of expected--it was really well balanced with humor (gah, this book is hilarious!) and incredibly compelling characters.
I can really recommend this book to just about anyone, but especially to anyone who can relate to nerd-dom: computer engineers, biologists, astro-physists, anyone like that. This is entertainment that makes you care.
Side note: I'm also very glad that I listened to the audiobook, as the narrator did a phenomenal job. His performance definitely added to the art and experience of reading this book.
