I LOVE THIS
The comic strips rounded the legends perfectly, and I'm a fan of the illustration style.
This illustration book gives such valuable insight on how we might evaluate the ladies of the legend we heard often. How we can turn it into empowerment, and which part was actually harmful towards how the world acts towards women, even nowadays.
It terms of diversity, it practically has stories all over the world.
It gives great critical points and lots of references (which I'll look up later). It would be nice to have the physical copies of this bookπŸ’™

Thank you Netgalley for providing this 🫢🏽

It was good, but nothing really special. I'm vibing with the characters, idk maybe the plot was too predictable (?) For a quick read, it was quite fun.

I enjoyed this one's more than the first book. The plot flow effortlessly and I def enjoy the scenery of spiritrealm.

Graci Kim is awesome for thinking how you changed the spiritrealm into some children friendly place yet super relatable with the modernization.

A little let down was the action in the end. It doesn't feel very thrilling. After all they've done, I expect more fight scene(?) And the plot twist wasn't very well written ig.

But I love this one and the new characters it brought. Can't wait for the third installment to come πŸ₯ΉπŸ₯°

I enjoyed this but some stories and villains(?) getting affirmative portrayal sounded weird and it looks like trying too hard to validate their feelings.
Sometime it's okay for villain to be true to their devil self. Doing evil things just because they could.

Absolutely love this. The illustrations are top tier. Super eye pleasing. The poems are very heartwarming. A coming of age book suitable for teens. I finished it in one sitting. Thinking about sharing this with my students....πŸ’™

First, It was quite enjoyable for me, but not the one's that gave me best reading experience.

I used to be skeptical when a book marketed as prideful fmc, but STZ did it well I guess.
My bf love LOVESSS three kingdoms, so I was so excited to devour this. He told me a lot abt it.
Turned out, Im still very confuse at first πŸ˜‚ it gets better overtime, tho.

Things I like:
  • The sassy Zephyr
  • PLOT TWIST
  • The strategies delivered
  • Crows' antiques

Things I don't really enjoy:
  • I like Zephyr the way she was. The big reveal was a turn off for me. It made the power unbalance. So, I get the feeling she wasn't earn her way as I imagined her to be. She couldn't really owned the risk of her choices.
  • The writing style wasn't my favourite. It was really personal preference, tho. Don't mind. It just doesn't work for me.
  • Inconsistent pace. I get so sleepy in the middle of the story and it wasn't as action packed as I imagine it to be.

I have lots of questions and hopefully the 2nd book live up to that😍

I love the world building and I know the author knows what she's doing with all the research, reference, and efforts. I can feel it. This is a work out of love. Give this book a go❣️

I love this.
I'm not actually into poems, but I enjoy this so much.
I do love mythology stories, and to find them in these flowery languages was delightful.

A rollercoaster ride😭
It was so angsty but I love how it evolved😭😭😭
I never cursed so much reading a halal romance before (iykyk)

It made me want to visit mecca and Medina for real. To experience umrah myself. Thank u for bringing the life or early marriage couple, its conflict, and striving with showing the beauty of islamic teaching. AND I LOVE ALL OF THOSE HISTORICAL TRIVIASπŸ₯ΊπŸ₯° Even if I didnt see my people, these muslim folks bringing me joy!!!

Good is what you do, not who you are.

Well, this third installment of Paola Santiago series makes me feel a lot of things.
Packed not only with thrilling actions but also roller coaster EMOTIONS.

It explored the nightmare itself. The pain and despair. Despite the name, El Cucuy, the monster under your bed wasn't a laughing tale at all. Pao need not only her wits to win, but also a strong heart in which she won't be succumbed to fight her worst nightmare. For a 13yo girl, she was brave beyond reasons.

What I like:
  • The feelings described and how Pao dealt with them. Her character development. She grows without really losing herself (if that make sense). Still quick witted and stubborn, Pao waved her way throughout this adventure with a bunch of more emotions and feelings.

  • The appearance of Emma and the open-minded gangs, The Rogue, was a nice additional touch.

  • Pao and Dante's dynamics. I love how it ended between them. The fraternity which was built since book 1 paid off. Their interaction was always intense, and that's what make it good.

  • The community value πŸ’œ we call them 'gotong royong' here. Checkin on with your neighbour, friends, and move as a team.

Things I guess could be better:
  • I always love how Pao and Emma friendship works. However, the chemistry was lacking if you put them in a romantic feeling. It was just so sudden, and I saw that this book tried very hard to made it believable(?)

  • DANTE. I'd love to see his POV really. For someone with that complicated characteristic, for everything he had to endure, the traumas, and his past. Everything. Even after what happened in the book, I guess that could be more.

  • The ending felt a bit rush and there are so much to take in. I dont understand how the magic worked for that particular occurance.

All and all, I like it a lot. I love the series, and I dont think I'd be able to shut up about this book in the near future
