🌶🌶🌶/5.
This was such a sweet and surprising read. I honestly didn't think I would love it as much as I did because I knew from chapter 1 Gunner had trust issues when it came to women but I'm happy to share that my worry was for nothing. He stepped up right after what he said and that was it. I was also 99% sure my girlies, Cala and Riley, wouldn't do me dirty like that. In their romances I trust!
I loved Sloane. Is that a surprise to me or others who know me? No, it isn't. She is Her. She was sassy without getting on my nerves because sometimes authors do 18 year olds who behaves like 14 imo and that's a no no for me but this author did it right. She is mature enough where even if she says something appropriate to her age, it just felt smooth and it went along with her personality. I just love how she behaved towards everyone especially the guys. She slayed!
Gunner was rough but sweet, protective and overall a good person as the rest of the guys are.
He started a grump because she was hot and young but he stood no chance against the hurricane that was Sloane. I like that he wanted her to succeed without the expectation of her doing something from him. He helped her when he thought he couldn't but he just couldn't ignore her because he has morals and is a good guy.
I loved that once there was a hint of trouble, he was all in in protecting her and made sure her and her family were being protected.
Plot twist happened and let's just say Sloane acted like a Sloane would. I love her brother Lee and feel like there might be a little thing brewing between him and one of his "brother's" sister 👀. I would love to see it since the kid deserves it.
I loved everything that everyone did to help Sloane whether it was to protect her or to fix up her house just because she was one of them. This is what Cala Riley does best, it's the found family aspect of it all plus everything else that always makes me feel like everyone is awesome and I believe that they are happy and in the end that's what a romance is.
Can't wait for their next release!

* Annotated book by The Book Refuge. *
* The Rake Meets The Bluestocking Readathon Read.*
Well I picked this book because it was annotated by Jenn and it was on my tbr since last year and with this Readathon it was the perfect change to finally read it.
In the first Chapter I realized this wasn't book 1 but I was invested already in the story so I read it basically in one sitting.
I loved the story that was being told for various reasons. It was interesting to me reading a story that started as insta-love (we don't see it happen on page), to marriage to then being separated from each other. Never read one quite like this but maybe I live under a rock. 😅
I like seeing that Isabella was doing her best to love Mac from afar but she wouldn't take him because he hurt her when she needed him the most plus he was an alcoholic.
Tbh I liked that the author doesn't tell on page how it was for Mac to detox however he does tell Isabella how it was on the hard days.
I liked that they both still loved each other but they never communicated their hurts and so it lead to some painful times however when this begins, Mac is willing and ready to get his wife back no matter what and so that's what he starts to do.
I loved that they adopted even when their relationship wasn't a sure thing yet. I loved that after their loss, they were willing to do that.
I loved the story. I felt for these two and I totally understood Isabella but I also wish she was on board a bit earlier on because it came across almost as if she wanted the spicy and good times but not to be married again.
Besides that I loved Mac. His charm was charming 😉.
Isabella was also the type that didn't keep quiet and I loved that about her.
I loved them together. I also loved that in the end Mac got rid of his "friends" and chose life and love.
Last but not least I loved reading what Jenn had to say about the story and it made me more excited to read about Ian next.
CW: miscarriage (not on page), alcoholism (mentioned).

🌶️🌶️.5/5.
Well I wasn’t expecting my rating to be the same as my first time reading this because I had some revelations this time around.
Xander carried this book for me 100%. Vi is a hypocrite in some ways plus she gets angry when she ends up doing the same thing that she is accusing him of doing but what took the cake for me was that Xander was always the voice of reason in this relationship and what I mean by this is that he demanded communication from her because she always assume stuff or was afraid to know the truth even when the wanted to know. Collecting contradictions this one.
With that said she wasn’t that bad. She frustrated me a lot when it came to that stuff but with the other stuff like strategies and the reckless behavior that ends up leading us to misery but I kind of like it because it was born from a place of grief and love for her people.
Also with that said, I can’t ignore that because she likes to sacrifice herself to save everyone every time, she caused a chain reaction that lead Xander to accept „the offer“ and her mother to die (good riddance to her tbh) which left a sour taste in my mouth because I know she is gonna struggle with this new Xander and I don’t look forward to that.
I really HOPE she matches Xander‘s maturity in Onyx Storm otherwise it’s gonna be a struggle. She needs to step up her game in the feelings department and maybe her temper a bit too 😅.

Daniel is such a beautiful soul. He loves the city his family built for all those years and he cares about everyone who lives there so when a young man ends up inside his closed restaurant and he sees the predicament he is in, Daniel just wants to help this man and he does just that.
Aaron has had it rough and has been living in his car for a long while so when this kind hearted man offers his home to him, a stranger, he just can't believe it is even happening. In a way it restores a bit of faith in humans.
Anyways I liked the way these two meshed together. They understood what each other needs and they are perfect for each other because they compliment each other.
I liked the town a lot because everyone knows everyone but most of all, they are good people and they love helping others so that's just awesome to see.

This was my first read of 2025 but also the only book I finished in the last 2 months so maybe that helped elevate my rating however I really loved the story.
Violet was in an orphanage and there she found her best friend and first love but her grandmother found her and brought her home so during 14 years she hasn't talk nor seen her BFF but now she is learning how to be a High Priestess and be a great witch like her grandmother except Silas comes to town because he found his pack and like the great Alpha he is, he wants to takeover and bring prosperity to his pack so he wants a peace treaty with all supernaturals including Violet's grandmother.
I had an inkling about the grandmother because her hatred wasn't logical unless something else entirely was going on and Silas caught on to it very quickly which I loved.
Violet ain't blind either but she definitely needed someone to say it to her face so she could rationalize that she's not making something up. She's the type of girl that is loyal to a fault because she was abandoned when she was a kid and all she ever wanted was a place to belong to so going against that really put her in knots but I loved how everything was handled. Silas pointed things out but never pushed hard and he let her make all the decisions before having anything with her which just shows how much he wants her but he is willing to wait because when he has her, it's gonna be forever. He waited all of his life for her so waiting a little more is no biggie for him. He is such a great man plus his wolf is soooo cute and a bit violent but definitely cute. I loved them so much.
I just loved the way wolves work in this world and the fact that we actually get their povs. It was great seeing the wolves finding love too. They are sassy but cute and are the voice of reason. 🥰
I loved the side characters too. Violet's best friends are awesome. They supported her in everything and were there when it mattered the most. I can't wait for their stories.
The last part or so made me emotional because there was stuff happening but it just warmed my heart seeing witches and wolves come together to help Violet & Silas even though they don't really like each other but they were all willing to put feelings aside to help an Alpha and his Witch have their happy ending. It was great!
This was everything I needed and if you love Stay A Spell series by Juliette then this one is for you.

It's sort of weird that I ended up with the exact same rating from the first I read this. West was a bit dense in realizing wtf he was doing so that's why it ain't a 5 star but the narrators did such a good jib bringing them to life. West can just seduce you when you are reading it but with the narrator it's a whole other thing. Hot!
East is such a meany but I'm so curious about him. Travis is so violent, I wonder who he is like when he's chill. I honestly can't even imagine it.
JT putting West in his place is still one of my favorite moments in this book. The way he just puts himself first and tells it like it was amazing. I was so proud of him!
Fun fact: So I display this gorgeous cover on my bookshelf and every time I walked past it, it was always in the back of my mind so I eventually gave in and reread this.I swear this cover is trouble. 😂

* I read an arc of this book. *
I read this in one sitting and I loved it. I was nervous mid-way through the story because the secret still wasn't out and I worried West wouldn't do enough for JT to forgive him. My worries were unfounded because I think he did good and he actually managed to make me shed a tear in the end.
This really is an opposite attracts where West & JT are the complete opposite of one another, both in lifestyle and character, however they find common in the little things they both like.
West started out as this cocky, self-centered, 'get whatever/whoever I want when I want' type of guy but as you read, you see that he is also self aware. He knows he is a bit much for the common folks however he treats people in general with kindness unless he has something up his sleeves or the person is some type of authority (kind of). At first i was standoffish of him because of the type of story it was and also how he was however seeing him being nice to people who work for him showed that he isn't just the cocky, get whatever I want type of guy. He was more than that.
JT is that kid who stands out in the new school because his mom the authority at the school. He is a straight lace guy who gets straight A's until he meets West for the first time and oh yeah he is also straight... or so he thought.
He gets tangled with West because no one wants to be friends with the Dean's son and also for personal reasons West makes a move and compels JT to come out of his comfort zone and enjoy school life a bit.
When I say West was alluring and compelling, I actually mean it. That dance scene where he dances with a guy, Blake, was the moment I could actually visualize and understand JT completely. It was the way West was a Seducer, charmer, debaucher, sexy and compelling. Their connection, to me, was felt through my kindle.
I didn't like why West first approached JT however I loved the relationship they developed. I loved seeing JT embracing this new side of him when he thought he was only into girls. To be fair, i feel like anyone would be questioning their sexual orientation when face to face with West 🙈. That Park Avenue Prince is something else. 🥰
The third act break up actually did it for me although while I was reading it, I didn't think it would.
JT confronted West in the courtyard of the school and when that went down, West, JT's mom and me, were all proud of him. West 100% deserved what JT did and said. After that, it was finally time for West to make an apology tour that started with JT's mom and then JT but that kind of started after he had a "therapy session" with Donovan, one of his friends and Park Avenue Prince, which I very much appreciated.
What sealed this off for me was the little cafe and what happened inside. West really did the thing that would for sure make JT (and unexpectedly me) to forgive him. I liked that Caleb helped JT with what he did.
What didn't make this story a full 5 star was the fact that I needed an acknowledgment or an apology from the Park Avenue Princes or at least East cuz he was a bit much when all went down. I also needed one more chapter of West & JT enjoying life together. I realize they will appear in future books but it's not the same, I just needed a bit more to bask in their happiness.
I liked the majority of West's friends and I'm very intrigued to read Travis & Caleb's story cuz they have tension that's off the charts and i wanna know everything!
JT's mom was amazing. I loved how loving and understanding she was and despite everything she pushed West in the right direction when the occasion presented itself.
Overall I enjoyed myself immensely and I can't wait for the next book in this series.
I wonder if we're getting Travis next or if Miss Ella & Brooke are gonna make me wait for it. Whoever is next, I'm excited and I can't wait to be back with these guys again.
