I ate this up like candy and all of it in one sitting!

First of all I liked how it started. It gave an inside right away on who/why Saros and Em were the way they were.
Saros is the powerful, scary mob boss but to those he holds dear, as well as his employees, he is kind and cherishes them which I loved to see.
This contrast is honestly what Davidson King does best and what you can always expect from her stories. She writes scary but lovely men with a morally grey compass but kind hearted.

Em had it rough his entire life but the day he decides to help a man from getting 🔫 is the day his life changed for the better.
I love that despite the treatment he went through, he still had hope that his prince would come and take him away from it all.

Saros took great care in showing Em he was no threat to him but also that he wanted to give him a better life.
Their romance was lovely, they were amazing and after I finished it, i had all the warm feelings.
I loved it but that’s no surprise at all since it’s a Davidson story. I always have a soft spot for them. 🫶
