Sorry Not Sorry: Dreams, Mistakes, and Growing Up by Naya Rivera
5.0
(5 Stars for the purpose of Good Reads, I don’t typically rate real life stories because it doesn’t feel good to my soul)
I picked up Sorry Not Sorry for a source of comfort following Naya’s death. She and Diana were always my favourite out of the Glee cast and I was able to see myself in Santana and her storyline on Glee. I grew up with Glee, it was a huge and important part of my teenage years, something that I looked forward to in my week. When the news broke of Naya’s death I was extremely heartbroken and eventually came around to listening to the audiobook. I feel like I know her now and I’m grateful to have existed in the same lifetime as someone so vibrant and bright. She was a wonderful soul. Despite the early death, this book shows just how full her life was, although heartbreaking when she talks about her future. This book reads like you are having a conversation with a wise older sister or friend. It’s impossible not to feel so close to Naya when you hear her story. I felt myself feeling so angry for her at certain parts, epesically with her having to go to set the day after her abortion. I’m happy that Jose has this book to read to or even listen to when he’s older. His mother will forever be remembered and have a place in our hearts

Thank you to Netgalley for giving me an EARC of Shipped by Angie Hockman. I was eagerly anticipating this because of the claim that it’s like the Unhoneymooners, my favourite Christina Lauren this far. Unfortunately, for me it didn’t live up to that and my already high expectations. It fell flat for me and I just didn’t find myself wanting to read it.
The Midnight Library by Matt Haig
5.0
If my heart wasn’t made of steel right now I would’ve cried all the way through this book. That being said, I went on an emotional rollercoaster with this book. I related so deeply to our main girl that it hurt my heart. This is a story of being at your end wits and trying to find a way to live again. I loved the science fiction aspect of this book and I’m trash for the library setting. You’ll want to cry and smile throughout The Midnight Library, you’ll be rooting for Nora to find her ‘happy ending’.
This book really put into perspective that there’s no perfect life, that all stories have happy and sad moments but that doesn’t amount to whether it’s a good or bad life. I love how Matt Haig made me think and feel throughout this.

Brunette Ambition by Lea Michele
Brunette Ambition, Lea Michele
Genre: Celebrity Memoir, Self help, Lifestyle, Non-Fiction
Themes: Self care, beauty, health and wellness
As a spiritual person, I hold people to the same standard that I hold myself to. If I can learn to love myself snd forgive myself, I can learn to love and accept Lea Michele for all that she is. That’s why I picked up Brunette Ambition, I wanted to understand her and her perspective primarily on the Glee days. Unfortunately, I didn’t learn anything new about her and I would love a more personal insight into her story and who she is as a person. Every thing in this book can be found with a simple Google search. Unlike with Naya’s book where I felt like I knew her and felt so much closer to her, I feel miles away from Lea. However, I enjoyed her dedication to self care and the random recipes and tips throughout the book were enjoyable to read. The most heart warming part of this book was the little message for Cory and the entire passage dedicated to her best friend Jonathan Groff. I fully understand that Lea didn’t want to go into depth about her grief when Cory passed as the this book was released that same year, but in the future I would love to see her write something more personal.
