a really nice read, i came in expecting more about dylan but it was nice that he wasn’t the main focus, considering this isn’t his memoir. shone a light on the greenwich village scene and introduced me to characters like Dave Van Ronk, it also illuminated political movements and problems of the 60s. hearing about rotolo’s trips to cuba were very cool and it really makes me wish i could’ve known her at the time

notes from a trip to russia was a major standout, the rest was okay but didn’t draw me in a lot. i have been reading various pieces of black feminism and i think the issue i find with lorde is that it isn’t framed as politically, which is the part i find interesting. this isn’t to say her writing isn’t important, it just doesn’t resonate with me as much as the other things i have read thus far. took way too long to finish. perhaps some other writings by lorde would be better for me. i also think that my first audiobook having been freedom is a constant struggle, read by angela davis, made listening to a book of speeches and essays read by someone other than the writer less appealing.

read during my week in marrakech, a very nice companion that gave me some insights into the city and the culture. mayne’s love for marrakech is so clear and it is making me hate the idea of leaving even more. seeing the café de france and wandering the jemma el-fna felt so special knowing that it has been so full of life for so long, i will miss you marrakech.

It has been nice reading Plath, i think parts definitely drag on, trying to be overly descriptive, but generally most of these stories are nice

I liked White Ice, it was fun the whole way through and the different stories were very well woven together. I liked Beatrice and Hermione the most probably
