This is like watching a train crash in slow motion in the best way. You know what's gonna happen and can can do nothing to stop it but you KNOW its gonna be bad but SO entertaining

definitely more sci-fi than horror. personally found most of the characters annoying and much of the writing to be awkward. not for me.

The story is pretty meditative about what it means to be a human, and the longing for those we lost. At the same time, the story is pretty straightforward and not much to write home about, at least for me. I will say, the art is very surreal, and while it might not be everyone’s cup of tea, I found it really interesting and beautiful.

Pretty solid visual adaptation of the original Phantom of the Opera novel. That said, it doesn’t bring much of it’s own spin to the story. The art is generally well done, though there are certainly some pages/panels that took me out of it.

Grabbed this from my work book swap to try to read more poetry and I feel like I took psychic damage from reading this. These poems all read like first drafts from high schoolers in an intro to creative writing class who are deep in the trenches of teenage heartbreak. The line and stanza breaks don’t inform the works much at all, repetition is used at times on purpose and other times because it seems like neither poet can come up with another word for “love” or “broken”, and it seems like every poem in the back half are about shitty relationships, which while relatable for many, feels more like listening to your drunk friend whine than a poem. Overall, a collection of surface-level and unimaginative poems about heartbreak and… well that’s most of them.

Pretty straightforward and fun horror comics. The stories themselves all feel pretty “generic horror”, but the art and through-line of the coin elevates it for me!
