Swordcrossed by Freya Marske

Could see the marriage resolution coming from a mile away (thanks in part to deliberate setup via foreshadowing), which - in conjunction with Marske's excellent exposition and character work and Luca's flair for the dramatic - honestly made the ending all the more satisfying. I despise the cover (it makes the book look like a YA) and I skipped the part where Matti felt betrayed by Luca , but I'll catch that on the inevitable re-read. Another easy five-star read from Marske.
KnitLit (too): Stories from Sheep to Shawl . . . and More Writing About Knitting by Molly Wolf, Linda Roghaar

Became oddly religious midway through but evened back out (mostly) by the end. There were some gems among the more run-of-the-mill but still sweet recountings.
Finishing Techniques for Hand Knitters: Give Your Knitting That Professional Look by Sharon Brant

Should have been better edited for spelling (found several incorrect cognates) and clarity (many explanations were neither clear nor precise, a major flaw in a technique book).

I love a slow burn, and baby, this romance is not even yet simmering - it's barely preheating, and I can't wait for book two!! Reece and Evan read as autistics on the opposite end of the empathy spectrum to me, which I also love. Very cool "magic" system. Have I mentioned I can't wait for book two??
