Swordcrossed by Freya Marske

5.0

Could see the marriage resolution coming from a mile away (thanks in part to deliberate setup via foreshadowing), which - in conjunction with Marske's excellent exposition and character work and Luca's flair for the dramatic - honestly made the ending all the more satisfying. I despise the cover (it makes the book look like a YA) and I skipped the part where
Matti felt betrayed by Luca
, but I'll catch that on the inevitable re-read. Another easy five-star read from Marske.
