Even better than the first book. The combination of political intrigue (literal) and political intrigue (sexy) felt written for me, personally. The only mystery left (quite deliberately) is
who is that darn vampire messenger?? I guess knowing his name wouldn't make a difference...
A satisfying ending to the duology and this beloved throuple.

Great read! There were some small pacing issues, but that is not even close to overshadowing the cool world-building, meaningful character-work, and engaging plot. The author does not hold the reader's hand, which is something I appreciate and makes the "aha" moments of understanding the relevance of the small details even more rewarding. Loved the slow burn and the main relationships, although I wish the sexy bits were less fade-to-black! I'm looking forward to the sequel.

Did not finish book. Stopped at 13%.
The sentences are all the same length and the characters are one-dimensional and juvenile, especially when their supposed station is considered.

A surprisingly and genuinely good adaptation! Something about the graphical novel format really helped me understand the language in a way that reading or watching the play has not. I didn't love the art style, but it did not detract much from the overall adaptation and honestly even worked well at times to emphasize some of the hokeyness of the play.
