Second book in my coworker Julie and I’s book club of the worst possible garbage smut books we can find. Honestly, it’s not so bad. Once you get past the fact that she jerks off minotaurs for a living and that it takes places in a multispecies community, it’s just like a basic ass love story.

Okay, so after DNFing ToG, i’m back in business. Can’t lie, this was pretty slow for me, however I feel like I have a really good sense of who Celaena is now and I’m interested in her as a character. That last novella damn near made me cry and I’m so excited to follow her story. WAY more compelling character than any of SJM’s other leads (not to pit women against women but Feyre is nothing in comparison.) Let’s get into it.

i am so glad i gave this a second try. Celaena is nothing like SJM’s other female leads. She’s strong, she’s badass, she has expensive taste, she does not need or want a man, and she knows who she is. I can’t wait to see where this series goes.

recommended to me by the bookseller at Tall Stories in Rock Hill, SC :)

aww cute! very YA, a little more YA than I hoped it would be but based on a relatively true story and CUTE! honestly a delightful and quick read, although a little youthfully cringe at times.

what if i died tomorrow and the last thing i read was this boring book where nothing happens? i think there are so many better authors than hemingway now. sarah j mass would beat hemingway in a fight (physical or intellectual). the best part of classic novels is the yearning and there’s not even any of that in here.

it’s beautiful. i teared up many times. a story of being young and afraid and uncertain and in love and having everything fall down around you. the writing is gorgeous and like wading through soup sometimes. smooth, but then you’ll hit something that’ll catch you. i’m going to be thinking about Sneha for awhile.

Read this book the entirety of the time I was in the Bahamas. For a book as big as this one, a LOT happened in the last 50 pages. Felt like it could have been paced a little more evenly, and I did in fact see the plot twist at the end coming, unfortunately. Must drink half a bottle of wine and discuss whether or not Xaden and Violet have a healthy relationship, i’m leaning towards no for their martyr asses. Still, I ride for these books and January can’t come soon enough!!!!!!
