I love it!! The pacing at the end is decent (the pacing of the ending in the first book really pissed me off😭)I liked that the ending was realistic for the characters and the world that was built. I really enjoyed Whit & Inez’s romance but felt like it took up most of the book and maybe messed with the pacing a tad. However, their romance and interactions was really nice so I didn’t mind too bad. There were some other details that gave me a slight ick but nothing that dramatically affects the quality of the story. I liked this book a lil more than the first so I’m glad I stuck with it despite the frustration the first book’s ending gave me.

I LOVE THIS BOOK! I’d recommend it to anyone! Especially to people who aren’t into reading for real!
The story and its outcome is spectacular! You’d think it’d be impossible to write a fully fleshed out book of this genre given how short it is and given that it’s a stand alone; but the author writes and develops this story immaculately! There is context given in a way that is said but is also unspoken but it’s written in a way that adds to the books eerie and thrilling nature! The ending is so satisfying and I was on a hook for every page! I literally could not put this book down!!!

I loved the book! I loved that Theo (Theo is white) didn’t feel like a white savior but still used his privilege as an advantage to the black Community and seemed to actually somewhat use what he learned about redlining and gentrification to understand different aspects of his surroundings.
The ending was also nice! While the whole experimentation piece was crazy, I like how the old people end up helping not only by taking the actions they took but by giving advice to the main characters. I like how realistic it was despite how unfortunate because that’s realistically how situations like that are handled.

The ending dragged a lil too much for me… I think that how it’s concluded before the epilogue was enough of a conclusion to their story and that the epilogue was too much/was unnecessary as a result. I love the characters and the story but it also just felt too long for me😅
