This book was great!! If anything I wanted more! The characters are well written, the story telling was great, and it took me by surprise!!! The amount of times I was gagged by this book is inconceivable😭 the humor was top notch and I still can’t get over some of the lines in this book… I enjoy the balance of personal growth and romance for Mal. I wish I got more of Nolan’s POV but that’s me being greedy. In reality I think there was just enough of him tbh. I think a nice touch is the way the prolog and epilogue happen two years before and then after the story. The last couple of lines are nice as well… I just really like this book yall!!!

It was mid… I get the lesson she was trying to get across I think, and I think that the concept of love (in all forms but especially self love) as a form of revolution is a powerful concept… I just feel as though it could have been more powerful(especially given the premise)The storytelling was very mid in my opinion ( even for young adult)
all in all mid as hell

Another book from my childhood…(yes i know I’ll read something new now😭) she was cute… the story was nice, lessons were learned, the character development was sweet for a select few characters so that was nice, and all and all it was a nice read. I’m giving her 4 and not 5 stars just because she didn’t have the 5star feel fr… like she was cute just not life changing or thought provoking.

Did not finish book. Stopped at 7%.
This is not the type of book I can comprehend by listening to an audio book… I have the physical book so I will read that when I’m ready.

It was incredibly informative about the indigenous women’s experience within Indigenous communities, indigenous communities in general, and how the government fucks with indigenous communities! And the story was so well written! The suspense and the different twists were done so well!!! I’m so glad I finished this boooook!!!!

Great YA!!! On the mature side (the content and trigger warnings say enough) I knocked it down a half a point due to one of the aspects of the abuse was handled. (Light spoiler: after the abuse she starts seeing and hearing stuff, a real symptom of PTSD&CPTSD, and it is wasn’t really concluded… it kinda just happened and then it’s never spoken about with in the book again) all in all I would have just liked the psychology of the survivor to be addressed more OR some commentary on how mental health is handle in the black community!! However, GREAT representation, writing, and commentary on the exploration of women of color in the entertainment industry!!!
