This is the last book in the St Valentine series and I thought it was cute that it mirrored events in book 9 as well. There were a few inconsistencies between the two with dialogue and timing but it was fun to read them back to back.
I had thought that being the last book would mean an ending or resolution of the mysteries. Nothing like that was done which is a good thing if there are more books in the future with the same premise and different characters but also it left a lot of books on cliffhangers and the overall premise was still a mystery.

This is my favourite book in the series so far! A bit milder than the rest when it comes to fetishes and gore but more romantic and personable. I love the way that Gunner takes care of his own and that they both know what they want. Gunner would be the only male in this series I would actually date. I love the writing style and the fact that it ties in with the series but could also be a stand alone.

This series definitely has something for everyone! This time the themes are foster care, identity and relationships. It has a morally grey female and a lot of interesting plot twists and story points. Just when you think you have the hang on what happened to who and when, you learn something new! Interesting and adds to the fetish list in the series for sure. Check the trigger warnings!

This puts an entirely new fetish into the series and truly makes it a dark series that has something for every dark spice lover. The ending has me very intrigued and I like how it brings a historical mystery into play as well. If you read the trigger warnings, you'll know what you are getting yourself in for and it certainly doesn't disappoint.

St Valentine's University is getting to the crux of the mystery in this edition of the series. We have themes of cults, kidnapping, identity and destiny in this novella and the pressure is heating up. Zova and Ezran have been present in the earlier books and we know where their story left off but having their background now shows them under a brand new light. One that leaves you eager to read the next installment!

The series is taken in a different direction this time with the addition of Teagan's story with twins King and Phoenix. They have really covered everything in this series! The best bit was the surprise ending and I know that this book is being fleshed out for a novel at a later stage which I am betting will really good. I hope that the surprise in the ending will be explored further there. Still intrigued into how the series will pan out but enjoying the ride!

I had the delight of reading my first Susan H Howell book and it was really intriguing. It didn’t really follow the rule of a deep novel with more descriptive scenes and mood setting sentences, but it was more effective in a way as it was more focused on dialogue and conversations with a healthy dose of psychology as well. I definitely learn’t a lot more that interested me that my Introduction to Psychology many moons ago. I really liked the characters and the way they were intimately themselves in all scenarios. My favourite of course being Levi. Loving the humour and banter that he and Samantha had. The paranormal stuff came in towards the middle and end and it got really good at those stages. The ending was definitely something I didn’t see coming from reading the first few chapters either. A great introduction to Samantha Hayes and of course, Susan H Howell. 4.5*
