I love this book. The dialogue, the characters and their stories, the heist and the twists all make for an amazing story! I liked this better than Shadow and Bone, but to be fair I have not finished the S&B series so I don’t know if it gets better.
The fact that this band of thieves are a group of teenagers, just incredible.. I’m sad they’re not portrayed the same way in the Netflix series.
Great book!

This book was sent to me for free for my honest review. The review is my own personal opinion and feelings on the book. 3-3.5⭐️⭐️⭐️
I have mixed feelings about this book.. one one side I do believe that it is very well written and there are descriptions a plenty here, but I just don’t think there was much character development. To me this would be better as a two or three book series to allow the story and characters to develop more.
There are some sensitive topics such as racism, harassment, characters with disabilities, fatphobia, religious references and human/child sacrifice. I get it’s part of the story, but some things could have been worded a bit better.

3.5 Stars- I think this was a pretty good book and well written. It does feel like I'm reading an essay or reading a podcast/video outline script (just the feeling I got reading it). There were a few racist/prejudice terms used, I do understand some of the quotes taken were from the time and not the thoughts of the author, but just a warning.. It is very WWII talk. Overall, not a bad read, but definitely different than what I was expecting based on the synopsis on the back cover.

I really enjoyed this one. I do wish there was a little bit more plot development or we could get a second book because I’d love to know what happens to the characters in the long term, but I really enjoyed the story.

I was a little hesitant at the start because I was so confused about what was going on, but then… this book just sucked me in and I had to know more and more.. it’s times like these I wish I was a faster reader.
Some of this book is a bit predictable, but I still loved it. It’s a great romance novel.
I did get some ACOTAR/Feysand type vibes, probably why I loved it so much!
