I have read this author’s books, and this is the first work of historical fiction . The setting is Italy and New York, the time period 1946 post WWII Italy and the present. As the world order is changing, can a nobleman’s son marry a tailor’s daughter in 1946, at the cusp of the end of the monarchy. In the present, Cass is engaged to Luca, when her grandmother faces a face from the past. I really enjoyed the story and the background of the changing face of Italian society. Recommended.

Touching, but definitely a slow burn. The setting was beautiful!

A beautifully written multigenerational love story than spans decades & continents! Once again… Jill Santopolo has outdone herself. The characters are charismatic, the settings so picturesque & the love stories… what more could a reader ask for?
I loved the back & forth from past to current day. The relationships, heartache & life lessons are all part of what makes this book not only relatable but a solid 5 star read!
Highly recommended for all romance fans especially those that enjoy a bit of historical romance thrown in!
Thank you #StarsinanItalianSky, #NetGalley, Penguin Group Putnam & Jill Santopolo for the ARC. This is my honest review! Available now!

I loved the concept of this book & I even thought the arc of the story was well-orchestrated, but I found the writing itself a bit immature and even wooden, at times. I was surprised at this because I've read both of Jill Santopolo's previous novels & I don't recall having the same experience with them. Despite that, though, Santopolo created a story that pulled me in and had me caring about these characters & what their fates would be, and isn't that what ultimately matters?
*Thank you to NetGalley & G. P. Putnam's Sons for this ARC, which releases to the world on February 28th, 2023.*

I enjoyed the dual storylines (past and present) and I really, really wanted to love this one but it just seemed to be missing something. I was a little bored in some parts of the present storyline and felt like the plot wasn’t moving forward. It’s not a bad read; I just didn’t get that feeling that makes you not want to stop reading. Thanks to Netgalley for an early copy in exchange for a review!

What a beautiful dual timeline story that had historical fiction and romance!!
It’s 1946 in Genoa Italy and we meet Vincenzo and Giovanna, they lock eyes and it’s love. Giovanna is the daughter of a tailor and works with her father in his shop, Vincenzo is the son of a count his family own a vineyard that’s called Villa Della Rosa. Both from completely different worlds, they look past this and only see a deep and passionate relationship and Vincenzo reveals he would rather be an artist than working at the Vineyard. During this budding romance we see that the first time in Italian history, women will be able to cast their vote in an institutional referendum. Vincenzo and Giovanna watch and realize they have no idea what affect this will have on their romance.
Dual Timeline
We meet in New York, 2017. Cassandra and Luca who are in love. Luca is an extremely talented artist and Cassandra promotes fashion. Luca comes from a wealthy family his parents has a family winery in Italy, and they are able to travel between the two countries. Cassandra is the first person from her family that goes to college and her brothers and father work in construction. Cassandra and Luca get in engaged and he comes up with a plan to paint his grandfather with Cassandra’s grandmother when he convinces his grandfather and Cass's grandmother to pose for the painting, we watch as the past and present collide and soon reveal a secret that changes everything. I truly loved this book and the dual timeline added depth to the story. This was the perfect mix of romance and historical fiction and I can’t recommend this book enough!!

A beautiful dual-timeline novel. This book held my attention from page one to the last. Moments that were quite emotional (the last 10 pages had me in tears!). I loved the romance between both couples, especially Gram and Nonno. Definitely worth a read! Brava!

I love this author! I feel terrible for giving this one a 3… I felt the story was beautiful but there was absolutely no buildup and it felt really predictable which in case with books I never feel so this is new for me. I listened to the whole thing so I was obviously engaged but just didn’t feel
