I was hoping to enjoy this book as much as another recent read with older characters, [b:The Switch|45134200|The Switch|Beth O'Leary|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1573576865l/45134200._SY75_.jpg|69811310], but everyone felt one-dimensional in this one.

Listening to this audiobook was a real treat. I always enjoy listening or reading books with characters who have lived through life. These 5 friends traveling to Paris and discovering themselves on their vacation was absolutely inspiring. I can’t wait to live care free at that age! I plan on reading more books from this author. Well done.

A little predictable but wholly delightful and easy to read. At first I wondered if author had even been too Paris but as I read on I was assured she had. Totally suited my "ugh men!" Mood atm lol

A well written and engrossing read that mixes fun and some reflection on one own life.
I love the well written cast of character, they're relatable and interesting. I hope to have such a zest for life when I'm their age.
The plot is well crafted and entertaining, the setting vivid and well described.
I look forward to reading other books by this author.
Highly recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine.

This is the story of five elderly ladies who become friends and travel to France for a hen party. During the book, you find out about their lives back at home and also what happens on the hen party.
The characters are very likeable and are full of depth. They will make you smile and laugh but you will also feel sad at times.
The writing is so down to earth that it makes you feel like you are a part of the story.
I hope that there will be a sequel to this book as I would love to know what the future holds for them.
A great book that shows the value of friendship.

I thought the concept of this book was super fun, a group of friends in their 70s on a girls’ weekend in Paris, but the execution just didn't work for me. Everything magically worked out so well for everyone that it felt way too convenient (I wound up suspicious of a bunch of apparently well-meaning characters for this reason) and the lighthearted prose would sometimes veer dramatically into really dark subject matter for no real reason. Also the fortune teller was ridiculous.

A fluffy, predictable read about a group of women brought together in friendship by being in a class together. You pretty much know how it's all going to turn out but the characters are interesting and the backdrop is Paris. Super light read

When I saw this book in The Works originally, I wasn't sure about it but due to their 3 for 2 deal- I ended up picking it up. I was pleasantly surprised, although I'm probably not the target audience, being in my late twenties. However, the five women are great, they all have their own personalities, and sometimes I forgot they were in their seventies.

The chapters floated between each of the five friends, so that as a reader, we could understand what their lives are like separately before they all come together for the trip. I think Pam is my favourite, the only person she wants in her life is her little dog Elvis.

As a dog owner, I can see why (although I have a wonderful partner and I'd never replace him with a four legged friend.)

I really enjoyed following the women on their hen party adventures. There were so many fun moments, personal growth, as well as drinking wine and just having a good time.

There's so much in this, and it's a fun time! There is elements of shock, but I feel some of the things that happen, need to happen in order for the characters to change- not a huge change, just a growth.

I actually really liked this book more than I thought I would.
