Even though this series is supposed to be rooted solidly in science, turns out the power source of the mystical doohickeys that caused the Medusapocalypse all those eons ago are...cut gems.
MIGHT AS WELL BE WITCHCRAFT THEN! DIAMONDS HAVE POWER!

Regardless, the trek across the Amazon is pretty amazing and they establish their fort to make their stand against their bad pursuers.
But in an act of kindness, their smallest scout decides to treat a wounded enemy soldier, making them hostages.
What'll the clever science dudes do now?

*Review of Volumes 19-21*
Nice! More of the similar sciency stuff to what's been done in previous volumes. Love more Hyoga stuff. Love the whole approach they decided to take to win against Stanley. That cliffhanger though...
I didn't think there would be any deaths, but it wouldn't be the most far fetched thing in the world. I will be sad if Hyoga dies.

I feel like the last few volumes dragged a bit, but this one was really exciting (especially at the end)!
