This story blew me away. It felt like a fairytale and was truly captivating. The writing style was beautiful and had me drawn in from the beginning. It was perfectly descriptive, and I loved the world that was created. The plot twists were surprising and well done, and I found myself torn on what I wanted to happen. This book is beautifully atmospheric with a lovely romance and thrilling adventures! I loved this!

The most beautifully written book I’ve ever read. It was so romantic and I loved the inclusion of nature and fairy tale like vibes.

I initially wanted to rip into this book thinking it was copying uprooted. Upon further inspection, witch in the woods seems to be a trope. The book doesn’t feel like a trope though. The world feels mystical and beautiful. The existential question that is raised in the end feels arrived to in an honest way.

Solid 3.5-3.75. Cool/different take on "haunted woods"! Definitely sad at the end, and then....not ;)

I think if I had read fewer reworked fairy tales, I would have liked this one better. It dragged in several places and the twists were familiar to the point of being trite. It was fine, and I am glad I read it, but I wanted more originality.
