Another great installment of the Madeline Black Series. I have always loved Maddy's character. She is stronger then some give her credit for and has learned a lot since book 1 about her self and what she can do and be. Beezle continues to be one of my favorite sidekicks. He provides endless amounts of humor to about every situation Maddy finds herself in. Most of the book revolves around Madeline helping Jude find his missing Alpha and the packs children. There is plenty of action as she fights off demons and humongous spiders that would give an arachnophobe like me a heart attack. Along for the ride is of course Gabriele the man that Maddy loves but that refuses to be with her. There are some great developments between them in BLACK HOWL as well as some major heart ache and loss. Lucifer continues to stump and surprise me. Just when you think he is using Maddy for his own evil plans he shows what is under his cold exterior and lets us see some real (at least it seems real) support and emotion from him. Most of the characters we have loved from the previous books are also in BLACK HOWL next to Maddy as she uncovers betrayal and plots that will rock her world even more then it was already rocking.

There were a lot of emotions that came out of BLACK HOWL and I was sorta expecting the ending news to happen at some point but it was still EVIL EVIL ending the book like that Christina. Just plain Evil. Dying to read book 4 and BLACK HOWL isn't even officially out yet, hopefully the wait wont be to long.

Book three of the Black Wings series and still going strong.

I wasn't expecting the story to turn so sad and am still hoping that in Whedon-esque fashion death is not usually a major deterrent for Henry's beloved characters either. I'm keeping my mind open to that possibility.

Onward to book four . . .

This book kept me turning the pages. The suspense throughout the book and then the ending, it all made for a surprising read, and surprising is enjoyable, even if the book brings out other feelings.

Well, I seem to be addicted to this series. In this book, there seems to be ghosts popping up left, right and centre after untimely deaths (unscheduled deaths). Only, they keep repeating actions. Wade, the alpha wolf in the pack Maddy is allies with goes missing with other twenty werewolf cubs. Jude comes for her assistance in finding the cubs and Wade, only for the same thing to happen to the cubs. They're alive, but repeating the same words and actions over and over. Maddy wants to find out how and why this is happening.

A lot happens in this book, Samiel's trial takes place (Gabriel's half-brother), we now know that J.B. (Maddy's boss as an Agent of Death) is the son of Queen Amarantha (Queen of the Faerie Court) and is therefore half Faerie, Gabriel is freed by Lucifer and Lucifer personally marries his granddaughter Maddy and Gabriel, and Maddy gaining the position of 'Hound of the Hunt'. There's still a lot of tension between Maddy and her ex-fiancé (a stranger who was forced upon her by her father). In this book she renounces any ties to her father, the relationship being in name only. Maddy's happiness is only to be brief as events unfold.

It's been quite a while since I've read a book were I've felt such immense sympathy for a character. Maddy never gets a break and is truly heart-broken at the end of this book. I almost cried myself! Which never happens. The author is very skilled with emotive language and using it to her advantage to portray to the reader how the events affect the character(s) in question, such as J.B.'s stress in this book, Maddy's personal life, etc. However, she also creates very believable characters. By the end of this book I wanted my own Beezle. He's so grumpy and complains all the time, but he also cares for Maddy a great deal and would do anything for her, and it really shows in this book - he'd also do anything for a doughnut.

Over the past three books Maddy has made more allies that I think she's aware of, and leaves nothing but destruction in her wake (unintentionally of course). But she's made it clear that she's her own woman and won't listen to anybody because her sense of morals won't let her.

This book is so emotional I can't wait until the fourth book comes out on Kindle. I think I'm having withdrawals. This series keeps getting better and better, so although this is the first book in the series to receive five stars, so far I'd give this series five stars for plot and how life-like the characters are. Perfect!

First off, I am not a Gabriel fan. I did not want Maddie to end up with him. I am definitely a JB fan. With that being said, did they really need to kill of Gabriel? They make it so that he's the love of her life and then, in the same book, he's dead. And then the wonderful ending...she's pregnant.

This book frustrated me big time with the romance aspect.

But, I did love the way that Maddie stood up to her father and did not let him control her. And she stuck by her friends no matter what.

Now let's put Maddie and JB together!

OK I was torn on how to rate this one. It was a 4 star for me right up until the climax of the battle when i HATED what happened. But even with that it was too good a story not to give it 4 stars but honestly Christina -how could you?? On the romance front I am a JB fan but was happy to have Maddy with Gabriel because she loves him and hasn't wavered from that and she is such a likeable and kick ass heroine I want her to get the guy she loves. Bad Bad Christina - you better have that next book out soon.

The ending will PISS YOU OFF. But it was still an enjoyable, exciting read. Although I could do without some of the bantering between Maddy and Beezel (her guardian gargoyle).

Man, it was hard to read this book, knowing what was going to happen! And it was especially hard for me, given my own recent loss, of my dog Winky. It's hard to believe it was only 15 days ago.

*First read August 16th, 2016*
Oh, such an awesome book! So much happened, some good, and a lot of bad! That ending, oh! That hurt! But I need more!

Another solid entry, until the end. The romance was nice at first and then, well, I don't want to spoil it, but I don't think I'll continue with the series. I don't like where it's going.

In this, the third story about Madeleine Black, grand-daughter of Lucifer, many many plot lines are drawn together. I suspect (not having read the first two books) that many questions are answered, possibly more than I realised.

It is a story of mayhem, murder, treason, and complicated plots. Angels, nephilim, werewolves, bit parts for vampires, various fae.

It's a right roller-coaster. The A plot involves multiple sword fights, each one bigger than the previous. The B plot is a weirdly tortured love triangle, a marriage, and her father's refusal to accept Madeleine's romantic choices.

Despite the frenetic pace, I found myself bored. Ho, hum, another sword fight. Ho, hum, another fight with her father trying to be controlling. Ho, hum, another round of complaints about the overbearing nature of the men around her. Ho, hum, more angelic/demonic/fae shenanigans/plot twists/etc.

i wanted to love this, and I didn't. But it was a fun read.
