You know what? Yeah. Happy new year!

Great banter, GREAT tension, actually a plot? Good first read of the year tbh

A guilty pleasure

This series is not amazing prose, but a plot that pulls you in. You’re rooting for their success and for Envy to fix his court and Camilla to get out from under a jerk. Not a book I couldn’t put down, but one I would want to read the sequel.

Read this whole book in one day! It felt like bridgerton and acotar had a baby? But with demons and vampires and seelie!! Big fan of the 7 deadly sins all being a character / group of brothers. I’m also such a fan of magical powers and strong FMCs. Also the level of spice was STEAAAAMY, even scenes where it wasn’t full on intercourse— it was written so flirty and hot and wonderful. Amazing slow burn and bantering! Can’t wait for more :-)

This book was longer than it needed to be. Every time I checked to see how far I was after reading for what felt like hours I had only gone like 10% in the book. I will say I was very much intrigued by the game and I liked the plot however, I felt like the romance and the spicy scenes took away a little bit from moving the story forward. I liked both of the main characters. I thought they had good banter and I liked the FMC. I thought she was very clever and funny. I didn’t really feel like the MMC stood out from other male characters that I’ve read and felt like he kind of blended in.

I picked up this book, even after knowing that I did not like the initial trilogy at all. And I definitely liked it more than the kingdom of the wicked series but I just don’t think this author is for me. Something about her writing just makes it hard for me to connect and want to read more. I wish the game aspect was emphasize a little bit more and explored deeper because that part was great. However, I think overall it’s a solid romantic fantasy book.
