Loved the friendship between Haruka and Nino, but it did seem like once they became lovers that the things happened really quickly. Like too quickly for me to personally consider this slow burn. That being said I adored both of them so much.
I really LOVED this new take on the vampire lore. The world was built so well that you feel super immersed in it.
What a wonderful way to get out of my reading slump.

That was a good one. I loved the vampire lore presented in this book. Together with the intriguing characters of Haruka and Nino it made for an enticing read. And with the vanishing of some characters there’s enough mystery left for me to want to keep reading.

I cannot express how weak I am for these two. Hirano and Nink are just the softest fluffballs the literary vampire world has ever seen!
This book is the definition of a comfort read. There is conflict but not too much. There is healthy communication and protecting each other from outside toxicity.
There is a proper plot and world building but not too much, making this a very easy and relatively short read.
My only criticism is that I wanted more, I wanted it to be longer and even more detailed (I am used to 1000 pages long fantasy epics, so maybe that one is actually on me).
Sometimes it has a fanfiction feel to it, but let's be honest, we use this as a negative way too much when it really isn't! Not when it's actually executed well! So, i will say that his feels like one of those excellent fanfictions you keep coming back to because it is just sososo good!

I usually hate slow burn books but I loved this one. There was so much love involved that it didn’t really feel like a slow burn.

i will say though that it was mainly no plot just vibes for majority of the book while the plot simmered slightly in the background. but the vibes were immaculate & i was here for it. (i do also think this book definitely focused more on the romance while building up the main conflict for book 2 so i wasn’t very fussed.)
one thing that that is more a personal pet peeve was the use of romanised japanese (and other languages) when they switched to those languages in dialogue. it never went for more than one or two lines each time, and they were translated but just not my thing.
definitely still a 5 🖤 rating though for being a quick, enjoyable and easy read + i’m just a sucker for vampires :]

Oh my stars... this. Book. Is. STUNNING!! Such an AMAZING slow burn love story. I love that the plot is flushed out and this world is thought through and just beautiful!! The characters have such a genuine love for each other thats grows from mutual interests and trusts and I LOVE THEM SO MUCH!! Please read this friends!
