This is the author's 4th book in this series, though they can all be read as stand-alone books. Dayne and Kat come from different worlds with him being an FBI agent and Kate being a billionaire heiress. But they find love and bond over dogs and the Yankees. On the action side of things, Kat has a tendency to find dead bodies, so Dayne appoints himself bodyguard to Kat. They find themselves being pretty happy in their bubble until Dayne does something stupid. However, it all works out after the bad guy does bad things and Dayne and Remy come to save the day.
I was given the chance to read an early copy of the book for review.

Katrina Vandenburg is a wealthy socialite who spends her time between a rescue shelter for animals and handling charity galas for non-profits’ she believes in. When she returns a lost puppy, she finds the owner murdered.
FBI Special Agent Dayne Andrews, partners with the local police when it’s discovered that the murder victim was former FBI. When another victim is found at the Canine Haven shelter, Dayne’s convinced there is a connection.
The murder-mystery was interesting, and while I easily figured out the connection, I didn’t know the how. It was suspenseful and kept me engaged.
I loved Remy, the K-9, and the lost pup. They were robust characters in the story. I love how O’Fallon makes the animals an integral part of the story. It is clear she loves animals.
The romance was a slow burn at the beginning with obvious physical attraction. When they connected, it was hot and felt genuine. I got frustrated when miscommunications and social standings got in the way but appreciated the growth.
Each of the stories in the Federal K-9 series work as standalone and Trap ‘N’ Trace worked wonderfully on audio. Vanessa Daniels was perfect for Kat. Her male voices weren’t over-exaggerated or horse-sounding. She enhanced my overall enjoyment and allowed me to slip into the story. This review was originally posted at Caffeinated Reviewer

An FBI agent protects a socialite when she gets caught up in murder. Both MCs are really likeable, Kat is sweet and dedicated with a big heart while Dayne has a strong, capable presence. Despite initial misconceptions, their shared love for dogs sparks attraction and an eventual strong bond. and a growing understanding. There's good chemistry, though the push-pull and Dayne's struggle with duty makes it kinda slow burn until they gave in to their feelings.
The romance worked fine for me - lots of sweet moments coupled with some good steam, and Dayne is caring and supportive. I liked how they both show some vulnerability, even though Dayne's stubbornness with the whole "separate world" thing got on my nerves. The suspense is kinda so-so though, but the doggos Remy and Angus are all kinds of adorable and gets all my love.

I received an advanced reader's copy of Trap 'N' Trace by Tee O'Fallon from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
3,5 stars!
This book has all the addictive elements that the other ones have as well, just not all of it was executed the way I hoped for beforehand < which definitely doesn’t mean that I didn’t enjoy reading it of course…
There’s Tee’s engaging and enthralling writing (which I love so much and made for a fast paced read), there are fantastic characters present whom have such amazing and palpable chemistry and there’s an exciting story-line present as well. It has romantic moments, funny moments, sad moment, and really engaging and thrilling moments as well, so there’s enough of that to keep everyone who likes reading romantic suspense entertained and hooked.
I liked the characters. They were interesting and fun to read about. Their chemistry and developing romance was fantastic and had me all hot and bothered on multiple occasions. This romance gave me all ‘THE BODYGUARD’ feels and boy do I looooove it. I liked getting more background stories with both Kat and Dayne, which made for an overall better character development I think.
One thing that stood out to me was this: I really missed more ‘presence’ of the K-9 character, Remy. In the other books, I felt the dogs were characters in their own way and they were more ‘entwined’ with everything, whereas in this story it felt like Remy was kept in the background most of the time < I feel like there was more possible with this.
As always, the book leaves me craving more. There are still quite a few characters that I’ve gotten acquainted with over time whom need their own story being told as well imo, so I really hope that’s going to happen as well.
Overall, this book is a lot of fun to read and one I definitely recommend it if you like reading engaging romantic suspense and the presence of dogs in general (because even though there was more possible with the K-9 dog, it was still great fun!) To me, this wasn’t the ‘strongest’ book in the series, but it was fast paced, engaging and I really liked these main characters a lot! And when I look at ‘the whole’ of the series in general, it’s definitely still one of my favorite series < so I can't recommend them enough and beg of you to read them if you're interested because Tee deserves for her and her books to being recognized and loved!

I just got an ARC for this one > Thank you SO much @ Netgalley and the Publisher; I truly couldn't be happier about the fact that I'm able to start reading it later today! This is one of my most highly anticipated 2020 releases. Tee's writing is so frigging good and especially the Federal K-9 series is one that I fell in love with so much. Can't wait to dive into this new story!

When an FBI agent meets a billionaire their preconceived notions become the least of their problems.
Billionaire socialite Katrina “Kat” Vandenburg’s day has gone from bad to worse. She just wanted to return a lost puppy to its owner, but what she discovers is two dead bodies and an attempt on her life. She’s the connection between the murders so her life now includes a sexy and confident FBI agent bodyguard, and his loyal K-9 with maternal instincts. What more could go wrong?
FBI K-9 Special Agent Dayne Andrews has lost his mentor and good friend and it wasn’t a random robbery. He vowed to find her killer, but he never expected another murder that connected a beautiful debutante and her adorable rescued puppy.
I love these two unexpected characters from two very different worlds. Their chemistry is hot and is well worth waiting for. Dayne isn’t the hardnosed alpha agent that Kat expects. His chivalry and compassion along with his “inherent confidence and self-assuredness” earn her respect and trust. Surprisingly, Kat isn’t the snobby entitled jetsetter that Dayne plans on either. Her generosity and kindness to everyone, even those who don’t deserve it, are traits he highly regards. As their trust and attraction build, the line between professional and personal becomes faded, but will one give into pressure?
As for the suspense, the undercurrent of menace is palpable as Dayne unravels the reasons why his friend and colleague and Kat’s friend are killed. The climax is intense as several suspects are weeded out and Kat is running for her life.
I also enjoyed Dayne’s hot and funny friends as well as Kat’s employees aka family. But most importantly, I loved Dayne’s loyal and intelligent K-9 Remy and the precocious and loveable puppy, Angus.
I couldn’t put this book down, and I definitely plan to read more in this series as well as place Ms. O’Fallon on my list of favorite authors.
This fast-paced romantic suspense story grabbed me from the very beginning. It is filled with love, misconceptions, edginess, humor, and of course adorable dogs. Recommend highly!

Trap ‘N Trace is the fourth book in the Federal K-9 series. This was a new author for me and not the normal book for me to read, but the description caught my attention, so I thought I’d try reading something new. I am so glad I did because I loved it! My attention was caught at the beginning and the intense plot kept me on the edge of my chair until I finished the book. There were so many twists and turns and unexpected leads that there was no hint of how the book would end. The book flowed so smoothly and was so beautifully written. The author’s style of writing puts the readers right into the action and emotions of the characters. The characters were developed and perfect for each other.
Wealthy Katrina Vandenburg didn’t expect to come across a dead FBI female while returning a puppy that had been found and brought to her rescue shelter, the Canine Haven. Nor did she expect to be attacked and find her friend dead at the shelter while collecting food for the puppy, Angus. FBI Special Agent Dayne Andrews didn’t think it was a coincidence that both deaths were during the same day with Katrina being involved. He and his K-9 Remy’s mission is to protect her and find the murderer. Dayne wasn’t sure what to expect from Katrina but he didn’t expect her to be so sincere and caring for her employees. She was a constant surprise for him, and he knew he shouldn’t become involved with the witness of a case. His past has made him wary of wealthy females but the attraction between the two is too strong for them to deny. Can he keep her safe and be objective while investigating the case?
This was such a great book and I really enjoyed reading it. The characters from the previous books in the series make an appearance and I am truly intrigued by the series. I can’t wait to read the previous books and hope to see some of the agents again in future books.

**I received a copy of Trap N' Trace from Net Galley and Entangled Publishing in exchange for a voluntary and honest review. My opinion was not solicited in any way.**
Trap N' Trace by Tee O'Fallon is the fourth book in her Federal K-9 series this is Katrina Vandenburg and Dayne Andrews with Remy his canine officers story. I have loved each and every one of these books but this one is one that I've waited for because Katrina is not the usual heiress. She helps raise money for Canine Haven which is the central business for all of the stories with the dogs who each have their own personalities. I'd give this story 10 stars if I could and I wait anxiously for the next book to come out.
Kat is returning Angus the puppy to Rebecca Garman to her but never expected to find her dead body. There's a killer loose who wants something that Ms. Garman hid and will kill anyone to get it even Amy a beloved employee of Kat's at Canine Haven. Dayne is called in to investigate the murder because Rebecca was his trainer at Quantico he doesn't expect to see Kat there or to offer to be her bodyguard while he searches for the killer. His partner Remy is very protective of the puppy also and will do anything to protect her partner and Katrina.
Dayne Andrews is mourning the loss of Rebecca Garman and never expects that Katrina would be the one to find her. But once they meet he offers to find the killer and protect Kat from harm but as the clues start to add up he'll need all of his friends to help find her when she's taken hostage. As their feelings grow he'll be in awe with her ability to lead the Vandenberg trust and companies and accept that he's not interested in her money.

Trap 'N Trace is a story of people from two different worlds. Katrina is a billionaire and Dayne is a K-9 Special Agent with the FBI. When danger throws them together they have to fight the chemistry between them. As they struggle they find they have more in common than they thought. But will it be enough? Won’t matter if they don’t survive.
This story is filled with love, misundertandings and dogs. Angus is an adorable sidekick for Remy. I heartily recommend this great romantic suspense.
This story may be part of a series but stands well on its own.
