Trap 'N' Trace by Tee O'Fallon

4.0

Katrina Vandenburg is a wealthy socialite who spends her time between a rescue shelter for animals and handling charity galas for non-profits’ she believes in. When she returns a lost puppy, she finds the owner murdered.

FBI Special Agent Dayne Andrews, partners with the local police when it’s discovered that the murder victim was former FBI. When another victim is found at the Canine Haven shelter, Dayne’s convinced there is a connection.

The murder-mystery was interesting, and while I easily figured out the connection, I didn’t know the how. It was suspenseful and kept me engaged.

I loved Remy, the K-9, and the lost pup. They were robust characters in the story. I love how O’Fallon makes the animals an integral part of the story. It is clear she loves animals.

The romance was a slow burn at the beginning with obvious physical attraction. When they connected, it was hot and felt genuine. I got frustrated when miscommunications and social standings got in the way but appreciated the growth.

Each of the stories in the Federal K-9 series work as standalone and Trap ‘N’ Trace worked wonderfully on audio. Vanessa Daniels was perfect for Kat. Her male voices weren’t over-exaggerated or horse-sounding. She enhanced my overall enjoyment and allowed me to slip into the story. This review was originally posted at Caffeinated Reviewer
