It was nice hearing the story from Holders perspective but overall, I don’t feel like it added enough to the story line for it to be its own book.

So I really liked this author's first book Hopeless, so I was excited to read it from Holder's POV rather than Hope's (which was book #1). I was not disappointed, although I did only give 4 instead of 5 stars because there were a few points I felt were a touch repetitive from book one although it was still told through Holder's perspective. This is definitely a heavy emotional read, both this and book #1. If you think it is just teen angst, think again. It is about suicide, child molestation, kidnapping, and figuring out who you are. Heavy stuff. The vivid emotional descriptions are spot on for these topics and there was nothing in that area I would change about this story. I liked also that it was a happy ending, because by golly these characters needed one more than any other. Overall, a pretty satisfying read.

I liked this book but it didn’t give me all the feels like some of cohos other books do, probably because I already knew what was going to happen. I read this book in 2 days but found myself speeding through it to get it over with rather than it actually intriguing me. I wish there was more of a different take on the situation instead of a retell of the same story from a different perspective. Either way, colleen hoover really knows how to tell stories and it was heartbreaking knowing Holders past.
My favorite part was reading Holder’s letters. it allowed us to read the same story from a different set of eyes and it was a good way to show what he was thinking without it being entirely inner monologue. I also liked that we got to see Sky through different eyes and view Holder’s reasonings and struggles with the decisions that frustrated me in hopeless. Ps Dean Holder is still my book crush and will forever be.

I read Hopeless late last year, and I really enjoyed it despite sky. She was not my favorite, I truly like Holder better.

Losing hope is from his perspective and it’s such a beautifully heartbreaking book. I have felt so much heart ache and pain from Holder and it was written so well. You feel what he feels, the hurt , the sadness and desperation. I enjoyed this book but will recommend tissue when reading it. ❤️

It feels like I read the same book and somehow enjoyed it even still. And that ending

same story, different POV as Hopeless. It had added journal entries for more depth to the story.

As expected, once I started this book I could not put it down for a single second. Cover to cover in just under 5 hours!

Colleen Hoover maintains her top spot on my favorite authors list ... in fact, she may be one of my favorite people in the world. Her written words have the ability to somehow touch your soul - profound, I know - but it's the fucking truth!

Dean Holder is absolute perfection & we are all amazingly lucky to have this superb story from his perspective. I was already in love with him after Hopeless, but his story makes him even more exraordinary. He is, without question, my #1 book boyfriend ever - not sure how anyone would ever be able to take his place. His letters to Les were the perfect way to bring readers closer to his inner thoughts. I also found myself with a renewed appreciation for Sky, seeing her through Holder's eyes.

Hopeless is still my favorite book of all time ... but really, the 2 books are like sides of a coin - the story's not complete without both perspectives. I will no doubt read both books again (many times) in my life - it's just a story that I'm happy/sad to see end & want to re-live again & again & again ...
