Tess Gerritsen

4.01 AVERAGE

Totally enjoying this series, but don't expect it to be the same as the TNT tv series of Rozzolli and Isles, which I'm enjoying, too.

Rizzoli and Isles must solve the mystery of a presumed dead girl who ends up taking hostages in the hospital. Then we find out about the Russian slaves and government corruption. This is the most graphic and unrealistic one so far. I think I need a break before I try this series again.

Of all the Tess Gerritsen books I've read, I thought this was the best.

I didn't like this one as much as the previous books. I just found parts of it to be a little trite.

This was tough to read but a good mystery all the same.

I really liked the first part but as soon as the kidnapping ended it really dragged on

Wow. 5+ stars for daring to write with such tenacity about a truly tragic and sadly overlooked international catastrophe. If you won't peak at the spoiler before reading, let me at least say this: as with other Gerritsen novels, the book blurb is only the tip of the iceberg - the story is not "about" the hostage negotiation, although this event does set off the investigation.
SpoilerA book about sex-trafficking, government corruption, mega-defense contractors and their shady partnerships with mafias and criminal groups across the world - and their complicity in the enslavement and exploitation of women.
