The Queen’s Cook was exceptionally enjoyable to read. The characters are kind, selfless, sincere, and easy to relate to. The story is woven through both of their perspectives. Both have known grief yet both seek to bless others with their professions as cook and healer. Can they find real resilient hope that will allow them to start healing and maybe begin something new and become something more? I really loved the detail put into describing the process of making different dishes, simultaneously gripping and mouth watering. A good book to read with a snack nearby. This book was sweet and clean with fairly low angst yet still meaningful and profound. A book that both delights and strengthens the reader. Tessa Afshar is a talented author whose deep love and faith come across in every word of her stories. The Queen’s Cook is just the latest wonderful example of that, one I look forward to reading many more times to come.
