*Many thanks to NetGalley for providing me an audio-arc in exchange for an honest review!*

4.25 out of 5 stars!

Her ability to blend fiction with history, particularly her meticulous attention to biblical detail, captivates me. I found myself completely immersed, finishing the audiobook in a single day. The story itself was extraordinary—rich in historical depth, filled with a compelling plot, and brimming with moving inspiration.

The first time I read a book by this author was around a year ago, I remember enjoying it. I'm looking forward listening to this story as well!

The Queen’s Cook is a captivating entry into the Queen Esther’s Court series, immersing readers in the richly detailed world of ancient Persia—now modern-day Iran. The novel transports readers to a time of palace intrigue, opulence, and historical depth.

Going in blind, I was initially unaware of the religious elements, which left me somewhat unengaged in that aspect. However, the novel’s vibrant historical setting, courtly drama, and realistic romance quickly drew me in. I particularly loved the role of food in the story—it added an extra layer of sensory richness that made the world feel even more authentic. The blend of history, romance, and culinary delights left me utterly smitten.

For fans of historical fiction who appreciate well-researched settings, courtly machinations, and a touch of romance, The Queen’s Cook is a promising start to what looks to be an engrossing series.
