2.5 star rating.
The writing was garbage, but the storyline was pretty cute.

Good book; very emotional. LOTS of errors. Going from past to present tense sometimes in the same sentence made me nuts. Not sure I'll buy the other books in the trilogy because of all the grammatical errors. I wish self-published authors would find someone who has SOME grasp of the English language to go through their books before they self publish

Pretty Dang Bad.

Don't know which was worse -- the writing or narration. Hate to be a downer, but the writing was indicative of all slapped together romance novels, and the romance wasn't even there. The narrator sounded like she was 12, which only made the entire story more cringe-worthy. And what was the point of one chapter in a male's voice???

Happy to say I won't be continuing with the trilogy.

Oh my god there are not words to describe how bad this book was! Please stay away. Far, far away. The entire story line made absolutely no sense. This is by far the WORST book our Terrible Books Book Club has ever read.

3.5 stars...This was a great story up until the end. It was full of heavy issues and then miraculously, everything gets all sorted out. I would have preferred a CH rather than all of their issues just going away.
SpoilerHow can cancer all of a sudden not be an issue? And a guy that had a vasectomy years ago all of a sudden decides to get it reversed?

For a first book, the author did a great job. I liked the characters and the plot. Ellery helped Connor, taking him home when he was too drunk to take himself home. When he sees her next morning and accuses her of not obeying the overnight rule, she tells him off and therefore intrigues him. Then he realizes she's a genuine kind person, so they start a friendship that later gets hot. Then start the issues, like his bossiness, Ellery's deep dark secret that makes her defensive, etc. What I didn't like in the book was that every time they fought they yelled at each other which in my book smells of disrespect and Ellery was too potty mouthed for my taste.

1.5 stars for the idea behind this story only. Certainly not the writing itself. It's upsetting, as this has the potential to be a good book.

This book needs a serious amount of decent editing. The use of language made it had to read and I constantly had to backtrack for it to make sense.

Besides who lightly smiles or just knows what someone is thinking.

Both characters are wholly immature. They spend they entire book, yelling at each other, smiling at each other, then running out.

Ellery herself is the most self absorbed, self entered brat I have every read, and how many people can one author have killed off in someone's already miserable life.

On the whole this book is very disappointing. Most of the time I was grappling with myself NOT to throw my kindle away with frustration.

Ellery is just being a nice person when she meets Connor Black. After a heavy night out on the town she feels she can't leave him to get home on his own.

When Connor wakes up to someone in his apartment he can't believe he broke his own rule of no sleepovers. After not getting the reaction he expected from her, confronted with her stubbornness, he ends up becoming intrigued with Ellery and they end up developing a friendship that could lead to more as feelings start to surfaced that neither have experienced before.

Both are broken in some way but together they can make each other better.

I really enjoyed getting to know Ellery and the way she interacted with Connor in a way he was completely not accustomed to. I am really looking forward to the next book in the series.
