For a first book, the author did a great job. I liked the characters and the plot. Ellery helped Connor, taking him home when he was too drunk to take himself home. When he sees her next morning and accuses her of not obeying the overnight rule, she tells him off and therefore intrigues him. Then he realizes she's a genuine kind person, so they start a friendship that later gets hot. Then start the issues, like his bossiness, Ellery's deep dark secret that makes her defensive, etc. What I didn't like in the book was that every time they fought they yelled at each other which in my book smells of disrespect and Ellery was too potty mouthed for my taste.
