Alright so Season 1 was a mix for me it had parts I loved and then parts I absolutely could not stand. It added in tropes that ruined by favorite characters... which I adapted, but it just had so much crazy stuff happening that at times it was hard to keep up. The jump between characters didn't help because it wasn't cohesive to each story. Let me just say that Season 2 has so far fixed that small issue. The chapters follow each pair one after the other, unless we are completely shifting focus and then we might just get one. I really enjoyed this one a lot. I think the writing choices concerning how the characters interact is perfect. I loved that we have a mix of characters who are hoping for a forever and those who are just hoping for a chance to accomplish some very important life goal with the security provided by the auction. My absolute favorite part in this one is the number of super successful women we get to see.
The tension and chemistry is already a huge focus between all of our characters. We have some who seem to mesh really well together and then we have a couple characters who are extreme opposites and I think it's going to prove to be loads of fun to see how things play out for them. I honestly didn't want to put this one down because it had some amazing scenarios and character development. I loved that Madam Alana seemed to be more invested in this auction, and I have to say that while you can get by starting with this season... it's better to read season one first because a lot of things about the auction become clearer as well as the references to characters from the previous auction. Overall, I'm really looking forward to seeing how this season unfolds.

This is the first book in a second series consisting of four books with the stories arcing and if this book is supposed to be the one to hook you in, consider me caught hook, line and sinker! I haven’t read the first series, but I have read Audrey Carlan before and loved her characters, so when I saw The Marriage Auction, I thought why not.
With three prospective brides and one solitary groom, each character is distinctive bringing their own unique personalities and reasons for taking part in the Marriage Auction but ultimately, it’s all about the money for them although not for selfish reasons which made them appear all the more appealing especially Memphis who has so many people relying on him. For me personally whether or not I love a book is all about the characters, that’s not to say the story isn’t important, butI have to feel invested in what happens to them, and I love how this author writes characters that draw you in wanting to know more about them. With regard to storylines, I had been expecting each book to focus on a particular couple but instead each chapter deals with a different character’s point of view. Be warned it does end on a cliffhanger but don’t panic, the entire series released on the same day!

What a great intro to this second “season” of The Marriage Auction!
Each “episode” (or chapter) was a quick snippet from different characters’ POVs that give us insight into their lives, their motivations, and their hopes.
THOUGHTS 💭
💍 Each couple features a different trope and the author does a great job differentiating these characters and their storylines. I got invested in each person.
💍 This first book of this series sets the scene; there is a lot of world-building and character introduction. The cliffhanger… 😱
💍 When the spice hit, it H I T. 🥵
💍 Overall, this was a lighthearted, funny read full of hope and I can’t wait to continue these characters’ stories!
Thanks so much to Audrey Carlan, The Blue Box Press; and Ged Red PR for the ARC of this book!
