The Marriage Auction 2: Book 1 by Audrey Carlan
4.0
Alright so Season 1 was a mix for me it had parts I loved and then parts I absolutely could not stand. It added in tropes that ruined by favorite characters... which I adapted, but it just had so much crazy stuff happening that at times it was hard to keep up. The jump between characters didn't help because it wasn't cohesive to each story. Let me just say that Season 2 has so far fixed that small issue. The chapters follow each pair one after the other, unless we are completely shifting focus and then we might just get one. I really enjoyed this one a lot. I think the writing choices concerning how the characters interact is perfect. I loved that we have a mix of characters who are hoping for a forever and those who are just hoping for a chance to accomplish some very important life goal with the security provided by the auction. My absolute favorite part in this one is the number of super successful women we get to see.
The tension and chemistry is already a huge focus between all of our characters. We have some who seem to mesh really well together and then we have a couple characters who are extreme opposites and I think it's going to prove to be loads of fun to see how things play out for them. I honestly didn't want to put this one down because it had some amazing scenarios and character development. I loved that Madam Alana seemed to be more invested in this auction, and I have to say that while you can get by starting with this season... it's better to read season one first because a lot of things about the auction become clearer as well as the references to characters from the previous auction. Overall, I'm really looking forward to seeing how this season unfolds.
