Ok...I started this book and it sat on GR currently reading shelf for a long time...I didn't connect with the story right away. When I went to move the book from currently reading to want to read, I opened my kindle to see how far I had made it, thinking I was like 20% in. I was 9% in. And in opening it...I continued reading. And that turned into a non-stop binge. This story is amazing. I have found in my reader brain, third person POV is a slippery slope. I either connect immediately or I don't. BUT what I have come to realize is that when you are dealing with so many players in the game, and past to present sometimes the story requires that point of view. We the readers would have missed out on so much of the story if it was in first person. Slowly but surely I am seeing the relevance of this writing style and even appreciating it. Enough about that. This book was heartfelt, surreal, ethereal, and so deeply entrenched in friendship and goodness that I completely lost myself in the pages. Lost in the unrequited love of two best friends that watched and nurtured everyone but themselves for so long that they almost lost the thing they needed most. Each other. Beautifully told. Completely loved. It goes to say, if you don't succeed the first time...try try again. So glad I did. Amazing.

This book was a collection of things I hate the most in my romance books: Love triangles, tragedies and finally babies/kids. I don't even try to read romance books containing any of these things and if they show up later on in the middle of the book, I'm sorry but that book won't be finished by me.
So you may ask why in the world I would ever pick this book in the first place. And the answer would be Amy Harmon. I honestly don't know how she does it. Her books carry topics and elements I avoid at all costs but I still very much enjoy her books. It doesnt warm me up to the topics at hand but it does warm me up to her. She quickly became one of my favourite romance authors and I'm no longer a fan of pure romance books.
I loved the characters and I was quickly rooting for them. The story breaks your heart in the beginning but as Amy promised, your heart heals by the end and falls in love with the story. I loved the book and I love Amy Harmon.

Heartwarming and cute
This one was a tad far fetched for me, but it was a heartwarming story. I never could understand Cora’s darkness and her need to best Mercedes constantly. I couldn’t help but admire both Mercedes and Noah for being really decent people. The ghosts were a bit much for me…the three stars, but overall enjoyable.

It was well written book. The supernatural parts threw me off. The book was interesting from the beginning and kept my attention. It was also a rollercoaster and lots of things shocked me. But it all cumulated into beautiful love story.

This book wasn't really for me. I had a hard time connecting with it from the beginning, the plot felt slow, and I never really loved the characters. I was more interested later on the book, but I also found myself getting annoyed more often than not.
Content: swearing, two mild sex scenes

I get how this book can get really bad reviews.
Characters are manipulative, stupid, blind, depressive, and some are even dangerous.
But what I love about Amy Harmon is that she never sugarcoats anything. She lays down the story, you can love it or hate it but it is what it is. I say this in every review of Harmon’s books, but it’s true: you get real people, not just characters.
She writes human beings, flawed, insecure, disloyal. But all of them have also good traits, loyal, sweet, brave. Making it impossible to love or hate them completely.
Take Cora, for example, she’s selfish, manipulative, disloyal and a back-handed b*tc!! But I can’t despise her because I know where she comes from. Noah and Mer, they are flawed but they are awesome too.
Give yourself a chance to be immersed in something real, as real as it can be in a fictional story.
Also, there is some paranormal things going on. If you read The Law of Moses, then you know what I’m talking about, but if you haven’t I recommend checking it out.

Loved “The Sixth sense” feel. Disappointed it took a death of their best friend/ wife/ frenemy for them to finally be together. What would’ve happened had she lived? Or it never even happened????

Wow, everything that went into this story. I'm still at a loss for why Cora did what she did. I think I didn't like her for every decision she made, and including how she treated Mercedes. Like she stole Noah on purpose? I just never saw her as a good friend for Mercedes and Noah. Overall, this was a heartbreaking story to read bc of the revelations and situations that went down throughout.

I was hesitant to start this because of the whole love-triangle setup (prob my least fave), but this is Amy Harmon and she’s fantastic. The Smallest Part has the usual feels, the connections between characters, the weaving of faith and paranormal. The problem was, I just didn’t like the characters that much. I had a hard time believing anyone could hold onto a “friendship” the way Mercedes did with Noah and Cora. It was just sad, and I wanted her to go off and find someone amazing who was unrelated to the Three Amigos. I enjoyed the visit with Moses, and I probably liked Cuddy the best, but I just didn’t have the usual feels when the characters got together in the end.
