Very cute! We enjoyed this read and are looking forward to watching the movie. Bothered me a little that he made the robot a woman and then seemed to not know what to do with her other than make her a mother. Also the amount of gun use at the end was unexpected? But it was touching and we cried.  I wish there were bunnies

This was so good, so informative of different animal habits and the way nature works, and then we have family, friendship, and the warnings of the way the world works. So good.

As a middle grade book, this was wonderful. I loved the themes of learning to be one with nature and  bravery and found family and purpose. The simple illustrations only added to the simplicity of the story, while also echoing that something much more complicated lay beneath the surface.

My 10yr old really enjoyed this book, so I read it so we could talk about it. I loved it! We are definitely going to our local used book store to buy the whole series!

I would also like to add, my 10yr old is a VERY hesitant reader. She gets intimidated if she thinks a book is "too big" for her (I think she means thick?) But she loved Roz so much that she always wanted to know what happened next. Chapters are very short, and even the sad and scary parts are handled very honestly and appropriately, so I think that helped her not get overwhelmed. Will definitely be looking for more like this to help build her reading confidence.

I absolutely loved this book and there is not enough words to describe how amazing it is. I just can't wait to read the rest of the series. Also I may or may not have cried multiple times while reading this book.

Update : I have now watched the movie I think it nice to watch and I recommend it. But I will say is that the movie does go of course from the book. Spoilers for the movie/book I guess
fink becomes pretty important in the movie while loudwing is not mentioned once i think. The bear siblings also seem to be know where in the movie. There are more things that differ from the movie and book. But i think that is enough before i get out of hand.

In this book, a robot named Roz gets stranded on a deserted island. She must brave the elements and befriend the island residents to make her new reality a home. Once she settles on the island, Roz faces her cryptic past. This book promotes community building.
Overall, this book is meh. I didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would. I only read it so I could watch the movie later.
