Updated series ranking:
- King of Pride (forever my babies)
- King of Sloth (my new babies)
- King of Greed (good but not as good)
- King of Wrath (suck it Dante)
My Ana Huang holy trinity, which finally exists after this book: King of Pride, King of Sloth, Twisted Lies. 💜💙💚
Representation:
- Colombian protagonist and side characters
- Chinese side characters (one is half-Filipina)
- demisexual Brazilian side character
- side character with CFS (chronic fatigue syndrome)
Graphic: Cancer, Death, Infidelity, Sexual content, and Death of parent
Moderate: Emotional abuse, Fire/Fire injury, and Alcohol
Sexual content is explicit but wholly consensual. One character’s father was previously diagnosed with cancer and dies from it on-page. Both characters lost their mothers previously as well, one to a house fire and one (I believe) to an equestrian accident. Both characters dealt with emotional abuse throughout and beyond childhood, and one had a long-term partner cheat on them.cortanasreadingnook's review against another edition

I wish Ana all the best in writing, but taking a break isn’t so bad. Quality over quantity matters here and for a book advertised as NA Romance, this became a badly executed romcom. The characters were just so poorly developed that it felt dragging. Don’t even get me started on the smut because I’m not the only one who felt disappointed in King of Sloth.

We had Sloan as our lead FMC and she honestly is one of my favourite characters. Shes strong but you get to do that vulnerable side of her. Not only that we got to see her girl boss which I adored.
Xavier is also what I would call a cinnamon roll character. He seems shallow and just a pretty boy but there is more depth to him and Sloan brings that out in him.
They both have last trauma caused by family but they work well together to move past that. I adored their relationship and I felt that Sloan definitely shone through as the couple.
It didn’t have all the angst that I adored in King of Wrath but you know what I’m happy with that. This book was a joy to read and the bonus is we got see some familiar characters as well as new ones!
As always Ana Huang’s books are great to read and even though this is over 400 pages it is well worth it in my opinion.
I am however excited for Vuk’s book and we might get more tension in it!
As always check the trigger warnings before diving into books.
